#COBRACONNECT Challenge 4

As for the Cobra, well it was a day of fairways, of the 14 shots 13 were fairways, to the right shots were still on the fairway, I do not know why Arccos marked them as a miss.

This club was amazing today, the left duck hook that I hit only went 139 yards, but it was not at all bad.

The cobra fells lighter than the TS2 and a bit shorter.

I had no issues on finding the center or close to center of the club face with consistence.

The red circle was my worse shot of the day.

The club looks awesome at address.

I shot 45 and 46 respectively, which I am pretty happy about it.

NICE! the club is forgiving they knocked it out of the park, glad they were able to get your Titleist mind to Cobra!!!!

@xOldBenKenobiX that is quite an improvement in accuracy. When these start showing up in the used case at my local roger dunn i will prob pick one up and buy it (they have a 90 day return policy on used equipment). Also that one tee box looks like it needs some divots filled!

I will use a RAM club if it improves my game, I was not able to slice the Cobra at all today, in matter of fact it was super straight, I hope to have a few more rounds for the rest of this season.

I am super excited to take it to my normal course next.

That was the par 3 - 17th, it is a beautiful hole that plays mostly over water, very nerve wracking.

First time around I duffed the ball way left towards the trees.

Second time, I hit a beautiful 5 iron into the green, about 50 ft from the cup, it is a generous green, but it looks really small from the tee box.

I was very impressed and loved the shaft combination, I was able to hit it high and straight off the tee.

The last cobra driver I had hit was the S3 a long time ago, and it was a mess off the tee.

Great day for some golf. Glad the SZX worked well for you! I'm still loving mine. Took it out to the range today and had several that were estimated over 250 carry/160+ ball speed. The forgiveness of the head and the tour length shaft is a huge winner for me.

I got a nice package in the mail from Cobra/Puma the other day and even though the Shoes appear to be on back order I figured we’ve waited long enough to finish this thing off strong.

I just want to say Thank You one last time to Cobra, My Golf Spy, my four competitors, the forum members, and Enrique for the effort and participation throughout this summer’s Cobra Connect Challenge.  I’m fortunate to have been chosen and even more fortunate to have played well of the summer.  

Much like the newest US Open Champ Bryson Dechambeau, I had a photo-op with my Cobra gear and the coveted  Cobra Connect Challenge Trophy.  

I’d like to thank all the #cuetheduckboats fans out there, but unfortunately I was unable to get the approval for a championship parade in Boston due to COVID restrictions.  I know this is disappointing for everyone but it is simply out of my control.

From the start of the competition I stated that I was out to bring another title to Titletown, and I’m thrilled that this mission was accomplished!  Sure, the Bruins choked away another great opportunity for a cup and the Celtics bubble burst too soon.  But here’s still a new banner in town for 2020!

And lastly, since most of the smack talk towards me was about how annoying Boston sport fans are here is one last one for you.... Ricky Bobby style

 

Peace out #CCC4! It’s been an absolute blast.  I can’t wait to heckle the hell out of next year’s crew.  Enjoy your fall everyone (And I guess your Spring for those in the souther hemisphere.... you know who you are).  Get out there while you can and go low!

Took the Cobras out for what was probably my last 18 hole round of the season yesterday. I'm really starting to get in the groove with these clubs, was sitting at +3 through 13 holes before struggling to close out the round a little bit.

Honestly, for the first time ever I'm nearly 100 percent happy with my bag top to bottom. I think there is some room for improvement in my long game between the 3 wood and 5 iron, so that's something I may look at addressing next year. But overall, yesterday's round reminded me why I'm so very happy with almost everything in my bag.

Shortly after I took this picture the SpeedZone Xtreme popped my best drive of the day, 277 yards directly down the middle of the fairway.

Glad these worked out for you Cody and also that you didn’t give up on the clubs after struggling a little. So many rounds there over the season that you posted were just awesome, a lot of folks wouldNot have worked on the issues they were having and just said must be the clubs. Sounds like you have a winning bag

Appreciate the comments. I really think my struggles with the SpeedZones were largely because of the switch to the x-stiff C-Taper Lites. I think I was trying too hard to "muscle up" shots because they didn't feel the same as the stiffs I had originally fit into. As I've learned to relax a bit and let the club do the work, the results have been so much better and more consistent.

I played with my brother-in-law yesterday and near the end of the round he said something like, "You have such a pleasing trajectory with all of your clubs," and I'm really finding that to be true.

Great drive! Cobra really nailed it with the look of the Speedzone and Xtreme. Especially the matte finish top. It never gets old looking down at.

I’m going out to play a scramble today that I consider the last official round of the year. Anything else I get to play will be a bonus. But we’re getting into football and yard work weekend season... so the opportunities are fewer.

This has been the magic sauce for me.  Yesterday I kept repeating at set-up (on all shots) to reduce grip pressure, slow tempo, and quit overpowering the swing... pure magic.  Seems like I hit them just as far not trying to hit them far. I don't know why it is so dang hard for this to be the natural swing.  I can only conclude that good golf swings are at risk to the laws of entropy .

Congratulations Bryan! That trophy is going to look good on the wall, it's a shame that the Boston area wasn't able to #cuetheduckboats for you, but just know the MGS crew here appreciate what you and the other competitors did this year and you did us proud.

I was ready to put my Titleist TS2 driver back in my bag after analyzing my stats on Arccoss. I had lost 20 yards off the tee since putting the SpeedZone driver in play. But to the SpeedZone’s credit my accuracy has improved. I was fit into a Tensei blue 6.5 stiff shaft but received a Tensei blue 6.5 regular flex shaft for the competition and it performed well but the loss of yardage really bothered me. I had been following the Motor X shaft review thread and really was impressed with the results or the testers. So I wanted to try a Motor X shaft on the SpeedZone driver I found what I feel would be the appropriate stiff Motor X shaft for my 98 mph swing speed and Googled that shaft... bingo! I found one with the SpeedZone tip and two days later when the bidding was done it was headed my way!

The color scheme goes perfectly with the Cobra colors. But how did it play last week for the first time? I gained my 20 yards back and my confidence in my driver is heading in the right direction! Just look at the numbers.
After one round average drive was 245 yards vs 227 with the Tensei Regular flex shaft.
The SpeedZone driver is staying in the bag a little longer

That shaft looks . I hit that same exact Motore X F3 6-S shaft during my fitting for fun and loved the feel. Glad it's working for you! It's on my list of things I might want to try next season.

YES! So glad you were able to make it work! Cobra has really inserted itself as a strong driver company with its last 2 releases, IMO.

Seriously, what's it like? I thought I had mostly eliminated the right side mid-summer, but the high flare has come back with a vengeance and is now my predominant "shot shape" off the tee.

These are very comfortable, and will be well used as my range and simulator shoes.

The spikes are also subtle enough that I could see wearing these off the golf course with shorts and tee as well.

I'm glad to hear you've been cleared to hit golf balls in some way, shape, form, or fashion. That's awesome man!
