#COBRACONNECT Challenge 4

Had a putting session on the PuttOut setup. Used all 13 non putters, 3 each from 6 foot. Results were good, averaged slightly better than 2/3, with no shockers.

Contemplating changing the bag up a bit, perhaps dropping something to include my old driver. I probably won't as @daviddvm won't be able to, try to keep the playing field level as possible.

I decided to go with all 13 clubs and the putter for fairness. I have managed to get one round in but won't post a score yet just in case I can get another under my belt. I will say that I cycled 3.5 times and yes I putted on the 14th with a 56* wedge . The whole thing was brilliant fun and took some serious thought while playing.

That's about where I was yesterday and thought I would need to end up putting with a wedge. Scares you a bit thinking about that while still trying to put the ball on the green...

I will be keeping all as well. The pre plan has it cycling 3 times with 2 holes after. Ideally anyway or as I like to say “in theory”

Nice! And I’ll be doing the same. Especially if an approach is just off the green and I knock a chip or bump close to hole, I’ll be putting with a club other than the putter.

I almost wonder if this challenge encourages overthinking, which doesn't allow you to focus fully on the shot in front of you, so you're not able to 100% commit to what you are doing, which leads to execution errors.

If I'm able to get out and play, (lots of family stuff on the calendar for the weekend) I'm going right after the number one spot.

Just had a look at the forecast for Friday and Saturday when I'm planning on playing. Looks like it might be fun.

 

 

Hoping I get finished before the wind gets up fully. 34kph converts to about 21mph, throw in some showers and it could get interesting.

Worst part of it was I had three clubs left when I was on that tee, 4, 9 and 56*. I had kept 4 just for the tee shot as it's a dogleg right par 4 and 4 gets me to or just past the corner. I hit a nice tee shot and then thought a soft 9 would leave me just short for a 56* chip but I hit it too well and ended up pin high. I then contemplated putting for birdie but that would have left 56* for the next tee so I manned up and hit a 15 foot putt with the 56. It stopped 6 inches short, right in the jaws then I tapped in while laughing and thinking they will never believe this

Oh, you can shorten up your bag or change the makeup if you want. 2 drivers, 5 clubs. It's all in play.

Because I'm not one of the those 4 wedge guys, I have room for the Callaway Razr Fit driver.  It was either that or my PE2 2i or Callaway WB 3w... we'll see how this works out.

David! Just got an email notification that I’ll rcv my OL 4H and OL 5i on Monday. Those two were built separately, with the 4H an inch longer and the 5i a half inch longer. 

Hopefully remaining set ships soon.

So have planned the round out *in theory* I gave myself 6 actual shots per hole including putts but hopefully mentally this can give me a boost that I don’t go more than double on holes.

Also highlighted where I want to be a full evolution of the bag. Beginning of the round I know I’ll struggle but I usually turn it around at hole 7 on.
