OnCore VeroX1 Ball

Recommended Posts

So I was cruising through twitter and saw this:

It may be the reason they're having a big sale on the Elixir (a ball I really liked).

Maybe someone here has some insight on this new ball, maybe not. Either way, I wanted to bring it up to see if anyone has any dirt on this!

Based on a comment on an Instagram post about the Vero, Oncore says larger mantle, thinner cover, testing shows lower spin higher launch off driver. I'm very excited.

I’ve asked them, via dm in Instagram, where they’re made, if they have complete control over all aspects of production, and who designed the ball, and have had no comments back.

They do their own design. I don’t believe they have any manufacturing here but have some sort of relationship with companies here and Asia that do the manufacturing. Unless they changed things with this ball I am guessing that is all still in place

I have always been a Prov1 guy but I was lucky enough to try this new ball on prototype last month and it is everything a Prov1 is and BETTER.  The technology on this ball is insane and I have seen first hand that this ball is 8-10 yards longer then the ProV1 and A LOT straighter.  I always say straight is long.   (for reference point i am a 4.5 index)  The thing I was actually worried about most was  how it rolled on the greens.   There is absolutely no difference. I can't say one ball rolls better then the other but it has a nice feel.   Give it a shot...your friends will be impressed that you are using a cutting edge ball and not following the masses.

Do you think the seam is a problem in performance, or just a visual issue?  Dean Snell says its not a performance changer at all:

No, just visual. I can’t play a ball with a seam like that. I honestly can’t believe that they couldn’t improve on the Elixr without a seam. It’s 2020!

The Pro V1X is much longer than the Pro V for me, and if they’d have made the ball without a seam as big as Lethal had, I’d give it a go. The price isn’t that much better than the top brands when one takes advantage of the buy however many get one free that Titleist/Bridgestone/TM etc do. That seam! Good gracious. I couldn’t look at that all day.

I just went to their site to see how much a dozen of these are, shipped.... $47!!! I can get Pro V1X cheaper! Wow. Gonna wait for a coupon code before spending that much just to try a ball.

I have played the last few years  what I thought was the  best ball in Golf The ELIXR by Oncore.  They have surpassed my highest expectations with the new VERO X1.  The slightly thinner firmer cover gives the ball incredible distance yet more spin and feel around the greens.  I am  amazed!!..As an advisor and ambassador to the company  I know how good the ELIXR plays....now I have two ball to choose from when I head out to the links.  As a former college golf coach and member of a professional golf family I know the importance of playing a superior ball!!!

John, are you a paid spokesman for the brand?

Its always suspicious, especially when we have TWO brand new accounts make their one and only post extolling the virtues of a relatively little-known new product.

Well, this answers it. Just as a consumer, this turns me off to a brand. I would have appreciated your comments if you would have at least started out by saying, “Hey, I work for Oncore and I’m trying to get the word out...”

Bad look. But, that’s just me. Please let Oncore know that if the ball is going to be $47, shipped, I, as a Pro V1X player, have zero incentive to try this new ball since it’s more expensive. Zero.
