I didn't know there was a V3 thread already. Yes please merge if possible or I will go post there. Also, @Kanoito your location says Germany. Is that your actual location? I played at a course in Regensburg last time i visited for work.

Lol I see. Well next time I am there I will reach out to you. Maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle though from what I understand playing golf in Germany isn't as easy as just meeting somewhere to play. I played at a semi-private course on the outskirts of Regensburg. Land was private hunting ground belonging to Princess of Regensburg which was then turned into a private golf course which then became open to the public.  A member (who works at Krones AG, a vendor I work with) and his friend took me out that day. Had so much fun. Also you should visit Regensburg's Golf Museum if you have a chance. Interesting collection of golf artifacts and history from around the world.

That looks like a pretty sweet course.

My home course also used to be some royalty property, club house was a manor with knights and who knows what. Check it out www.gutkaden.de

I definitely didn't know there was golf museum down there, it's not like golf is super popular in Germany lol

Can't promise I can travel to meet you, but I can definitely treat you to a round of golf and beers at my club.

I was able to get my new V3 out this past week on the course. Simply fantastic. The smaller size is the reason i upgraded, and it is so much better than the V2. Battery seemed a little bit better than the V2 for me, but not out of this world better (my V2 was apparently better with batteries than everyone else). This is an A+ upgrade

In my opinion, Shot Scope got it right with the V3

The size is smaller than my Samsung Watch, all courses are preloaded, and the mapping has gotten better - which means I can still get accurate yardages when hitting blind-shots or have LOS blocked while using my Precision Pro rangefinder.

Overall, a great product & an improvement from V2

I think I read somewhere that the Arccos sensors are 7g versus the 2g for SS.  So possibly some swing weight changes (or at least some counterbalance) YMMV.

I'm decidedly brand agnostic -- but a bit less so with my recent change from a PING driver

I have v2 v3 and Arccos - v3 certainly changes the game on v2 - no downsides that I have experienced at all 👍👍👍

ive been stuck between Arccos and shotscope as platforms.  Shot acquisition is noticeably better for me on shotscope vs Arccos.  With Arccos link and no phone in front pocket I thought Arccos might finally win BUT the link needs to have sight of sky so when weather gets cooler I needed to find a way to keep the link outside - finally macgyvered a small cable to the link with a clip since the link kept falling off my jacket pocket - it’s stable when you are in  sleeves and it’s on your belt but having walked the course backwards for a few times to find the lost link was a pain ... which is too bad since Arccos has the best data presentation for me - it clearly shows where I need to improve and where I’m doing ok now by using stories gained - for shotscope you need to dig into the data to get the same insight - possible and nit so difficult but the combo of shotscope shot acquisition and the data model of Arccos would be kinda perfect for me.

also Arccos sensors WILL die - more specifically the battery will die - I ripped a few apart and was able to replace battery and with some larger diameter shrink wrap was able to make the functional and actually less green and get them back up and running.  Shotscope has no such battery  issues with the sensors as far as I know

I have over 170 rounds on Arccos and about 50 on shotscope so it’s a pretty good sample I think

hope this helps

I thought I read somewhere that ShotScope was working on adding Strokes Gained to their data analysis, but have not seen anything yet.  I still have V2.

Don't think I'd ever want to futz with Arccos if you have to Macgyver something - THAT'S THE JOB of the product engineers, NOT the user, sorry no sale.

That was also one of my complaints - with all the discrete (individual) shot data recorded and stored, I felt the data presentations could have been a LOT more flexible and comprehensive.... Another option could've been to provide an Excel download.

But.. as I understand it, they are continually improving the product .. and incorporating user feedback .. so maybe V4 is enhanced vs V3?

Valid point.

But just an fyi some apps are intentionally designed that way - keep the smartphone presentation as a reduced, quick to use, set vs provide all the features on the desktop version.

The macgyver was a small hole drilled in the link belt clip that allowed me to pass a small “so I won’t lose the link once and for all time” mod.  Yes, the macgyver thing shouldn’t be necessary but it seems like they didn’t consider that a golfer may be wearing a jacket and the link (belt Clipped to your belt)  needs to see the sky - that’s the oversight for me. But to be fair, it beats “phone in front pocket” by miles - as long as you live in warm climates, don’t ever wear anything over a golf shirt ....

yes, I have seen a few mark crossfield YouTube videos from the UK - shotscope is based in Scotland if memory serves - and he said they’ve told him that SG is in the way.

I was wondering if SG has a licence fee to use which exposes Arccos, shotscope etc on cost - that could explain the relatively fast move by Arccos to move to a subscription model  - shotscope has no such model, yet, but that’s my hypothesis

Shotscope has partnered with a UK group (Calculus) that creates training plans based on Shotscope data so that’s a profit based approach to the data-leads-to-improvement-plan issue.  I found some PDF “plans” on the shotscope site that demonstrated how to build your own plan on the data  - not terribly helpful for me - personally I’d pay for an analysis layer that helps me decipher the data by making suggestions etc.

I know where I’m not very effective - so that’s obvious to fix, but I don’t know how much it impacts my scoring ability  - that’s where SG would shine.  Similarly I have a sense where I’m pretty good and likewise I don’t know how much of a benefit this is for me in scoring. And for the junk in between, who knows 🤭🤭

On it now! I wonder if it takes your past data and analyzes or only for new data after the update?

I haven’t played since November - winter in Toronto - and it shows SG stats  for me going back a full year so it seems like it’s applied to previous shot  data - I’m very happy to see this addition as it was the big gap for me

I have played about 20 rounds with shot scope v3 with tags. A couple observations.

I am not a practice swing guy at all.  It totally messed with my mechanics.

Maybe this is why I have so many missed shots.  Some rounds I get 1 or two missed shots. Other especially when its really cold, I get so many missed shots it not worth looking at.

2. Swapping clubs present some serious confusion. In performance tabs.  Mine where so screwed up, I just deleted all rounds and am starting over.  I am going to start  carrying club from  cart to ball swinging it around a bit in hopes it wakes up and recognizes club.  The problem is for this to.work properly. It requires a little attention, you have to look at watch to make sure it recognizes tag prior to taking shot.

Also pin collect is pain in the ass.  You really have to stop, and press the button next to number of puts while standing next to pin.  I often times remember pin collect when either in cart or on way back to cart.  Tgere should be some sort of audie chirp or something after 2 puts reminding you to collect pin.

I want to love this product. But right now I feel like it requires too much attention.

I invested in May 21 - watch and tags.  works really well compared to previous unit I had, wear and forget till after the round unless you want to tap the putts per hole etc.

stats are good and really helped me move forward. I had a season hitting 3 wood of the tee and distances obviously suffered for 2022 I'm back on form with the driver and hope for more moves towards the holy grail and scratch!

good tech and cheap enough to not worry about tbh

Control that mind
