We are even planning out first buddies getaway golf trip. However my friends differ from me in that they don't have the same manic obsession over golf that I do. I tried showing off my new driver to them and they didn't get it. Which brings me to you guys. I've been reading forever and joined the boards like a month ago. I was steered in the right direction for lessons then and now i'm back to show off my first What in the Bag. 16.9 handicap so my bag is built around forgiveness and limiting the big mistakes. IceHawk
Great looking driver and head cover. I still just can't get used to what they do with the topline, regardless of the benefit that Cobra argues it brings. I don't use Cobra anymore, but I really liked the old Speed LD driver and the deafening sound that it used to make on the driving range. Yep different shaft work different with different club heads. Now about 10 or 12 years ago some of the Titleist drivers were the ticket with a YS-5 or YS-6 shaft and so were some of their fairways. This experience as a young(er) golfer completely changed my perspective on shafts, and their overall impact on the performance of the golf club. Can tell you one of the ways I learned about shafts and the relationship to heads. This was just one example. I was playing the last of the Hogan metal drivers before Call Away bought them out which was a CSS with the green Aldila NVS 65 stiff in it. My bud was a Wishon dealer and Tom himself was in his shop one day. He gave me a Wishon driver head. We went through 15 or 20 NVS shafts trying to match the numbers versus the Hogan. I finally put my other favorite shaft at the time in it the old Pro Force Gold 65 stiff. It worked well with that head and the numbers were no where near each other but it worked 1 Quote Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex---- 3 wood TM V-Steel Aldila 65G R Flex 15*--- 7 Wood TM V-Steel UST Pro Force 65 R flex 21*---- 9 wood TM V-Steel stock MAS Stiff shaft 24*--- Irons 4 thru 9 Mac Muirfield TT black label --- PW Vokey SM-4 51* stock shaft--- SW Vokey SM 5 L grind 58* stock shaft--- Putter -- Rusty Scotty Santa Fe fluted Bulls Eye shaft---. ben310135
@SchlangoFett I just started picking up golf a year ago I have the rouge driver...I haven't been fitted yet however, my goal is to get that done this year to help out my game. However, all the reviews I have seen on the cobra speedzone for those with high handicaps have been nothing but positive. However, good to hear from someone just reconfirming this driver is amazing.
