Bogeys are actually my goal!

Seriously .. I describe myself as.. "average recreational bogey golfer" .. so making a bogey, and not worse .. and with a possible chance at a par .. is a "good" hole for me.

Bogey golf is good golf

On the other side of this question I had ZERO pars on the back nine the other day (after making six pars on the front nine).  I did hit four of nine greens and three putted them all.  To my knowledge, I don't recall EVER a having a par free front or back nine except maybe when I was taking up the game as a kid which was 50 years ago.  I hope I got that out of my system.

9 holes = 2 birdies, 4 pars, & 3-7s only because I had to stop counting for handicap purposes. 🥴🤣

Bogey free round - once... 18 straight pars.

Bogey fee 9's... maybe a dozen times by my best estimation... Usually followed by "that was a tale of two 9's" as I describe shooting 36 - 48 or something haha.

Most birdies in 18 and 9 (4 and 3 respectively) have happened a few times each for me.

Not to hijack the thread that I started (LOL) but honestly, I get much more out of watching LPGA players then I do PGA guys. They are extremely technically sound and so so efficient.

Anyway - those numbers don't surprise

I've always been a grip it and rip it guy, but after a couple of work injuries I decided that I'd give it (more controlled, technique-based swing) a try. Nope, not for me. I'm  back to firing hard from the top and watching golf on TV just to watch the best in the world do their thing regardless of gender or swing dynamics.

Cheers!

I shot 81 for 18 holes the other day with a double bogey on a par 5. Golf is so crazy. Boomed a drive, had 180 in, hit my 175club, and it rolled out to 200, depositing me in the back bunker. Great strike...too good I guess.

Sand was hard as concrete, and my sandwedge bounced off the sand into the ball, skittered over the green and pitched back waaaaypast the hole. 3 putted from there. Double bogey kept me from shooting in the 70's. Sigh.

Definitely not bogey free but those dang blow up holes!
