StrawberryShortCake Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 Got a great deal being offered 4-PW Mizuno JPX 900 Tour irons for 560 USD$. They are in like new condition. Should I pull the trigger on these? Is this a good deal or am I just excited? GolfSpy AFG Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 Tough to really answer, only you can decide that. But in this situation, always best to check around, and it doesn't appear to me to be that great a deal. I took a quick look at 2nd Swing; 919 Tour's available starting at $525, 900 Tour's starting at $449. Granted I don't know the condition there, but then go to the PGA Value Guide...trade-in value $265, retail value $500. Just some data points to consider. I don't know if you've ever hit them, if the shaft's right for you, etc., but if they don't by some miracle happen to be a perfect fit then I wouldn't. That's a lot of cash to drop on a 4-5 year set of sticks that might not fit your game. (And Tour's offer less help than the Forged line at that.) Next JPX line is coming soon enough too...the older generation sticks should get cheaper. null Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 Great Iron. Having gamed them and then being fitted for the 919 Tours, I'd pick the 919 Tours 10 times out if 10. Feel and forgiveness are better on the 919s, especially in the toe. 919s are set to be replaced in a few months so I'm sure you could find a great deal on them soon
Grit Golf Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 I literally just sold a set, 5-pw on eBay for $350 with x100’s and a bit of face rub. if they are in good shape and have exactly the shafts you want that’s not a bad price. “He’s a Cinderella story. Without getting fit how do you know what shafts to play. True Temper XP 105 is what are on my current irons and I like them just fine.
