Handicap 17.6

Rating 117

 

Played from the whites. 

Pink Velocity for the front 

Played the HRC along side with the CCC4 

Driver off the deck.

And I hit it farther than from the tee. 

That is a narrow shot. 

Lumberjacked it

It got to say, not my best but it was fun

 

I hit the top of a sprinkler control box between the 14th and the 15, ended up with a 295, got to get another 30 yards to compete for the longest drive tittle.

That's a good round, considering you were doing both the Cobra Connect and Hard Rock Challenge simultaneously. It's crazy how much you miss both the greenside spin and certain clubs. I had a blast doing the same thing, I enjoyed hitting the woods for a ton of shots, the Cobra F9 fairways are legit.

The course has been awesome for August, it rained just enough yesterday to help the grass to stay green, but not enough to waterlog it.

It was way harder than last week's challenge.

And then there were 2.    2 weeks left in the challenge!   Great jobs fellas, keep it up!   I'll get everything caught up this week.  Sorry for being MIA largely for the last two weeks.  Things have really picked up at the office (which is a great thing---it helps put this competition on)  but it's kept me away from the forum and the golf course.  From the looks of it, we have some new leaders in the house!  14 single days to take over the top spot.

Could you please do me a favor and post an update on how many rounds/holes you have officially played.  Thanks for doing what you guys do and bashing these rocks around!

63 holes so far.

The first week I only played nine holes with a valid Rock.

I am playing another 18 Thursday and and I am hoping to fit another 2 18 holes rounds before the end of the competition

Played another 18 this morning. 

Rock of choice, orange pinnacle Distance

41 on the front, 40 on the back 9.

Taking the pinnacle to the beach with the 9 iron

I used the Putter out of the green side rough, more than a few times.

More wedging with the putter.

 

I was in a good grove with the putter out of the rough

Took a top flight distance XL to the 9th hole

My son driving me around this morning

 

It was a perfect day, shot an 81, both best scores for the CCC4 and HRC

The course is Taylor meadows

66.1/117

Still seating at a 17.1 handicap

Finally was able to get another round in. Was using Prov1x on the front in order to properly review the Zipcore. On the back though I busted out the trusty ol Titelist Velocity. Almost got myself back in to the long drive competition on my very first hole.
Unfortunately had some kicks left and ended up in the rough. Played a very solid round and was a few shots away from a personal record round. Who says that the Velocity isnt a proper gamer haha. Played at Clustered Spires, shot a 38, played from the Black tees, current handicap is 8.8.

Playing tomorrow morning, I am hoping for a good 18, trying to get closer to the hole on the par 3s. got 4 chances tomorrow

Also is it gaming the system if I go play on a executive course over the weekend, 14 par 3s, to try to get even closer to the hole?

Shot an 81, 40 on the front 41 on the back nine

Played at Taylor Meadows, from the whites 66.1/117

I keep flirting with breaking 80.

I hit the driver off the deck a couple of times, once on the 7th hole, and again on the 12th hole.

Bummer! It’s the worst when you smoke a drive  and it trickles into the rough during a long drive competition. Still a great drive, and a really good hole!

This was fun! The Nitro had completely lost all of it's lettering by about the third hole... 

You are a legend for doing this during the CCC.  Double checking on the course rating, is 35.2 for one side of the course?  Was that a typo?

The commissioner of this is a slug head.  But the scoreboard has been updated and things have heated up!   I don't know how some of you guys are still hitting these rocks--but you are awesome.  @jddaigneault are you going to let that 327 bomb slide right by?    @RoverRick is holding strong onto the lead!

I thought drives needed to be in the fairway? I’ll have to see if I can sneak away from a wedding weekend to put in a round...I don’t get caught!

... If you guys have been watching the BMW Championship you know the conditions we are playing in the Chicago area. I can't even remember the last time we had rain and playing in 20 mph winds yesterday on hard fast fairways/greens I just can't imagine playing a Hard Rock and holding greens let alone playing a hole downwind without a urethane ball. It was tough enough with TP5's and a few times straight downwind I landed one on the front and still rolled to the back fringe. So again I have to applaud you brave (stupid?) players embracing this challenge in August.

I was using a Velocity. Sorry I forgot to post that, actually shot better with it that the Z Star XV I used on the back.

That's the rating for the back nine, which I played.

Overall course rating is 69.4/114.

at being a "legend." It was a lot of fun!
