Youtuber Golf channels and their “Distance”

Anyone here a little suspect about youtuber channels gaining so much distance over the years?  
I’m just wondering if anyone has gone “hmmmm??”  Like me.

not accusing ... lol 

just wondering .  It’s all good entertainment but other than that I feel the YouTube stuff can be detrimental to actual learning of golf.

Although I watch some of the YouTube golf videos I don’t pay too much attention to their distance numbers. My son and I tweaked our SkyTrak the other day. We maxed out the altitude and wind. I drive the ball around 240 with roll on the course and was hitting it about 330 with roll on SkyTrak. Maybe I should be on YouTube.

I can't say I've noticed much. I only watch a few different channels and they have seemed pretty consistent over the years with little gains here and there. 

Granted some of them can really hit the ball so not surprised to see big numbers. With that all being said I believe in general goes are being more well informed and understand distances better so many of ours have picked up. I know when I joined here my 150 was my 7 iron and now it's usually a 9 or 8 so I've picked up a club just with well everything. Being fitted, golf ball and better ball striking. 

Last point is on course distance can definitely be different to an extent then simulator distance.

Sea Level golf takes away so much distance;  maybe I should move.

Not moving but maybe playing a few rounds in, Copper Creek Golf Club, USA the highest course in the US, just over 3000 meters above sea level.

I myself would like to start a YouTube channel, but havent found the time. It would strictly be for entertainment purposes as it would all mid to high handicappers.

Agree that I've noticed this trend as well.  However, if you look at some of the numbers, it is possible.  However, swing speed of 110 will be hard pressed to carry over 300 yards, which I see on a normal basis.  Granted the launch and spin numbers are good from these guys, so it's not out of the question.  I'm just unsure how many of the bad shots are edited out to give them these "average" numbers.  Let me keep 6 out of 20 shots and I too can average a 290 carry and 320 in distance. LOL

I do think Matty from TXG actually can smoke the ball given his statistics.  Maybe not 365 as I've seen, but who knows.

The only time I ever hit on a launch monitor it added 30 yards to my 7 iron, so why not???
