I am an 11 hdcp. Been as low as a 6. I shot a 110 yesterday. Here is the story.

I could not hit the ball at all.  At all. Top it, chunk it, toe it, shank it. Putting was great. Picked up after 8 on most holes. On hole 14 I realized I was wearing my reading glasses. Took them off and finished with 3 pars and 2 bogeys. Still shot a 110. I may wear them for putting now though. Sigh.

I had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago. Not with the glasses just with the game itself. Completely lost my swing after tee shot on 12th hole. 8 over par in last 7 holes. It's a crazy game and it happens sometimes. Next time who knows.

That would be funny if it hadn't been so frustrating for you....

I have progressives but use them mainly for reading. I've kept my older pair in the golf bag and most frequently play without them, but once in a while I'll go with them on to see if it helps me "spot" the ball - during the swing - any better.

No definitive conclusions yet.

For putting, though, for me I think they hurt seeing the line due to the curvature induced by the lenses, especially in the peripheral when I turn my head for a last look.

I might have to try the reading glasses for putting. It never occurred  to me to even try it...lol.

Tough day. it is too funny that you cannot make it up. I hope that your next round is a lot better with the right set of eye-wear.

I would love that all my game needed was the correct set of glasses.

I did that once, wrong glasses, but I noticed it on the driving range before I hit the course. But for a few minutes I was wondering WTH? I am sure I’d score 110 if not worse without glasses, so I keep mine in my golf bag. I’m fairly sure my diminished eyesight (was 20/15 until my 40’s) has hurt my golf game so I’ve seriously considered LASIK solely to improve my golf game, otherwise I’m OK with glasses...

Happens all the time, I'm a 15 and at least 2 times a year randomly drop triple digit scores. Shake it off and get em next time
