Do try it, but imho ... short answer: not quite, not as well. OW's version is better balanced and provides a better feel through the swing. Well, thank you for helping me part with my money. LOL. When my wife and I played in Albany, OR yesterday, I noticed an OW display in the pro shop. Now I have the Skills Gold Flex as you know, and I like it for stretching out before a round. But they had the OW Lightspeed for $89.99, which is $10 off normal price, AND there is no sales tax, so a savings of $19. Now I have to figure out how to work it into my practice and warmup routines. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy @Kenny Brecommended this to me at out NW Spy Meet-up this past summer. I'm real hesitant about the superspeed product/process simply because I've had both shoulder and elbow issues and don't want them again. These are more of a warm-up/swing tempo aid that looks to be a better match for me. I would be tempted to doctor mine up a bit however . The combo seems to be working well together, too! On the second part, though - if you already have SuperSpeed sticks maybe you should look at their "C" model .. which is their version of the lighter, overspeed trainer .. might be a better complement to your SS set..? I happen to have three (!!!) OWs - the full-length Trainer, the Compact (simulates iron swings; also better indoors), the Light Speed. The "Trainer" is the most commonly seen and used one. The product at that link looks just like the SKLZ Gold Flex; which is a good warm-up tool but does not appear to be counterbalanced like the OWs are .. so, imo, not as effective as a full swing trading aid. Hoyoymac
Just received my Orange Whip Duo set of the Original and the Lightspeed. Will be starting on the drills soon and hope to gain some distance over the winter since my Arccos caddie is telling me that I’m losing strokes because of my driver distance. The work I did earlier in the year has paid off. My handicap is at the lowest point it has ever been, had my two lowest rounds of my life recently, a 68 and a 69. I’ve achieved my goals this year of getting below a five handicap and breaking 70. My goal for next year is to figure out how to get down to scratch. cksurfdude, MattF, Rickp and 2 others 5 Quote Cobra LTDx LS 9.0 TPT Power Range 18 LO Cobra LTDx 3W lofted to 16.5 TPT 17 HI Tour Edge E723 21 degree Diamana Thump f85 S Cobra LTDx 24 degree 5 hybrid TPT 17 LO Corey Paul - 5 & 6 CB with KBS $-Taper 120 Stiff Black Corey Paul 7 - PW Japan Forged Minimalist Blades KBS $-Taper 120 Stiff Chrome Corey Paul Functional Art 52, 56 & 60 all with BGT ZNE shafts Odyssey O Works Black #7 with BGT Stability Tour Shaft, SuperStroke Traxion 3.0 & 75g CounterCore Bridgestone Tour BRX or MaxFli Tour Tracked by Arccos, Bushnell V4, Vessel Lux XV 2.0 bag, Bag Boy quad XL cart with Alphard V2 wheels

I start out with 50 swings with the OW then to Protocol 2 with the sticks then finish up with the OW. The OW helps me maintain the swing mechanics, so I'm not pushing the OW to swing faster but rather to swing correctly. Hoyoymac
I bought the Orange Whip Distance Duo instead of the SuperSpeed sticks. Had a coupon for 15% off and free shipping, no sales tax, so about $155. A friend had the Orange Whip and I really liked it when using it to warm up before a round. Have been watching all of the YouTube videos to learn what the drills are and how to do them. Right now Arccos is telling me that my Driver Smart range is 222-239 yards. After reviewing my driving stats for the last 10 rounds my longest drives are in the 250-260 range and my bad ones are in the 200-215 range. An average drive is about 230. I’m very goal oriented, retired, soon to be 53 years old and my current GHIN handicap is 4.1. I had 158 rounds in 2019 with an average score of 81.8. So far this year I’ve got 190 rounds in and my average score for 2020 is 79.1. My scoring average for the last 20 rounds is 76.5. My driver technique is definitely a hindrance as I tend to be wristy on the take away, bend my left elbow in the backswing and cast the club on the downswing. The Orange Whip right away seems to help me improve my tempo and my technique. When warming up with it I can feel my back getting a nice stretch and see that it frees up my turn. Will update this thread periodically as I do the drills and get some more experience with them. tony@CIC, cksurfdude, Kenny B and 1 other 3 1 Quote Cobra LTDx LS 9.0 TPT Power Range 18 LO Cobra LTDx 3W lofted to 16.5 TPT 17 HI Tour Edge E723 21 degree Diamana Thump f85 S Cobra LTDx 24 degree 5 hybrid TPT 17 LO Corey Paul - 5 & 6 CB with KBS $-Taper 120 Stiff Black Corey Paul 7 - PW Japan Forged Minimalist Blades KBS $-Taper 120 Stiff Chrome Corey Paul Functional Art 52, 56 & 60 all with BGT ZNE shafts Odyssey O Works Black #7 with BGT Stability Tour Shaft, SuperStroke Traxion 3.0 & 75g CounterCore Bridgestone Tour BRX or MaxFli Tour Tracked by Arccos, Bushnell V4, Vessel Lux XV 2.0 bag, Bag Boy quad XL cart with Alphard V2 wheels

Kenny B
I bought the OW Lightspeed a few months ago while in Oregon; on sale and no tax. I have been using the Skilz Gold Flex for warmups before practice and play. I like it. My problem with the OW is the counterbalance ball. While it isn't very big, it's big enough that it takes up too much room in my bag to keep with me all the time, so it stays home. I use it in my hitting bay on days I don't go to the range. The Skilz GF has a grip just like the one on my clubs, so it fits in my bag nicely. It also doubles as the holder for my driver head cover while I'm playing, so I don't have to put on/take off 'Sylvester' all the time. cksurfdude 1 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Can the Lightspeed simulate as a compact for irons Trainer? Wow hope the shipping charge is not too crazy! Considering how popular the OW is, you'd think they might set up a global distribution. But on your question - IMO, no ... the Light Speed vs the Compact version of the trainer really are two different "tools" and function differently. I find an advantage in having all three. If that's not possible, though, consider what's more important for you to work on; for example, it was discussed earlier in this thread that the standard OW Trainer can help you build swing speed so pairing it with a Compact can let you work on different swing types. Hope that helps? tony@CIC and Kenny B 2 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ... Thanks for this, it will definitely help with my decision. tony@CIC and cksurfdude

Disclaimer - I am NOT a teaching pro, but what worked for me, to help me work on my swing, is the Regular and the Compact trainers. My thinking is "build the foundation" and then work on adding speed; so I think of the Light Speed as an add-on. Either way good luck and enjoy! namoxiz, Kenny B, sirchunksalot and 1 other 4 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ...
