There’s some irony when contemplating the market for watches in 2020.

Specifically, it’s a situation where the original purpose of the item is no longer a defining selling point.

Remember when the primary, if not the only, purpose of a watch was to keep time? Me neither.

It’s a reasonable assumption that time is anything but of the essence; golfers are far more interested in all of the golf-related stuff that this piece of wearable technology does.

The SkyCaddie LX5 GPS watch is built around the architecture of the SX500which was named the “Best Handheld GPS” in MyGolfSpy’s annual Most Wanted testing.

It offers an abundance of bundled golf technology, and did I mention it also tells time. Ain’t that something?

This review opportunity is open to members residing in the United States. If you'd like to be considered, please reply to this thread with the following information:

  1. Name and Location
  2. Have you ever used a GPS device or watch? Which one(s)?
  3. Current method of determining yardage

Yes, I use the GPS from cart and Bushnell

I use GPS when I ride and Bushnell laser when I walk

I love the technology and benefit of this and can’t wait to see what folks think. I struggle with items on my hands and wrists even not golfing. Maybe that’s why I have a tattoo ring?

good luck all even though I’m not in the market I can’t wait to see the watch itself and some of the display views of the watch itself

Have a Garmin Vivoactive

Use the Vivoactive and my laser finder to get yardages. I play in travel leagues so it would be nice to have a overview of the holes on courses I don't know well. 7 HDCP and play 3 times a week

yes - mostly use phone apps, I use 18 birdies the most.

I use my phone app or a yardage book (if available) to determine Distance.

I play at least 2 full rounds a week and have played 10 different courses this year(don’t plan to stop). I would be able to test this device in many locations and will be able to give it a thorough test.

I've used a skycaddie over 5 yrs ago, I dont use GPS much anymore unless I can't shoot the pin with rangefinder

Tec tec tec brand laser rangefinder

I've been looking at smartwatches that can download a good golf GPS. Yet to find what I'm looking for.

2. yes just about every Skycaddie model that's come out...non-watch

3. Skycaddie SX500

I'd like to test the SkyCaddie LX5 watch... I play st least twice a week to bounce back and forth from 12-15...I have pretty much every Skycaddie they've put out and currently have the SX500 so I'll be able to compare accuracy between the two. I walk and have the SX500 attached to my push cart so it will be easy to keep a running score on the accuracy between them...
