Costco Kirkland Signature Golf Glove

BrownBearGolf

Recommended Posts

Miguel from Brown Bear Golf reviews the Costco brand Kirkland Signature Golf Glove. Is it a poor quality glove at four gloves for $20?  How can it compete with name brand gloves that cost more than $20 for just one glove?   What's it made of?  Will it last?  Let Brown Bear Golf give you the breakdown!

I like them just fine. Good quality and durability. Not as thin and supple as a Titleist Tour, but definitely more durable. I’ll keep buying them.

Is there a way to see how the glove looks after a couple of rounds? I was stationed at the former Williams AFB now Williams-Mesa Gateway Airport. Back then I started playing gloveless due to hand sweating and how quickly gloves became stiff and unplayable. Poor durability did not help either.

How do they compare in fit and feel compared to the Callaways the used to sell? I can barely use a XL so if these fit a bit smaller, I'll skip them.

Thanks !

From left to right - Brand new glove, after 2 rounds in 90° degrees weather, and after 7 rounds in 90° degrees weather.

Pros: Feels great and cost
Cons: Tends to stretch out after 5 to 6 rounds

I had my neighbor pick some up for me and they are a great value. I typically just go with the two-fer Weathersofts but the K-Sigs are both softer and cheaper. I'm only about 10 rounds into my first glove, but it seems to be holding up pretty well.

I'm also not the best judge here, since I typically only use 1, mayyyybeeee 2 gloves for whole season... 😳

My only gripe with the Kirkland glove is the logo. 😂 But honestly, you really cannot bear the value. In hot, humid, sweaty Charleston/SC ... these gloves hold up very well. Even converted a fellow golf buddy who is a Costco member, and he’s an all UA guy

At the end of the day, golf is an expensive sport overall ... and anytime you can save money, along with getting a quality product at a great value, I’m all for it.

Thanks for doing the review.  I've been using and slowly depleting my stock of the 4 pack Callaway gloves and in the market for a restocking.  I bought the last pack on eBay and paid $22 with shipping, but these, in my size, are not showing up much anymore.  Like @mikeanthonysuggests, sporting the Kirkland name feels like opening a box of Pinnacle Golds at the 1st tee 😬.

But from the pictures, it looks like they are wearing fairly well.  At that price/glove, they could wear twice as fast as other mfg.'s and end up costing about the same - except that you get fresh gloves more frequently instead of feeling like you need to keep using that $15 glove until your finger or palm breaks through.

I wear size large in the Callaway and they are a whisker tight to start but feel perfect after a round or two.  Do you think these run larger or just that this Cabretta Leather stretches out more?

I believe mine is Kirkland’s Medium/Large size, and they fit great. And yes, I’d say the leather does stretch and give a bit of need be ... and you won’t be disappointed in the comfort.

Another about Kirkland is that they don’t carry cadet sizes, I believe. 🤔

Lastly, if one were to simply slap a different OEM logo on these gloves, they’d be snatched up left and right ... but again, you’d be paying an additional $10 premium per glove for it.

I have pretty large hands and can palm a basketball-- around 7 3/4" from the bottom crease to the tip of my finger. I used to play the Callaways and still have 1-2 old ones lying around in my bag in M/L. The Callways were a really tight fit and needed a break-in period before I was able to play with them. They do benefit from a little flex. I bought the KS in L and they fit snug, but ready to play. I tend to prefer gloves a bit tighter than most. Hope it helps.

@fixyurdivot The looks change real quick when I can smash a Pinnacle Gold 280y clean :D. Totally know what you mean though especially when playing private clubs.

From my experience with them as everyone else is saying is that they do tend to stretch after the 6-7 round mark a little bit. I have also had a pair that split at a seem which could have been a defect as I have not had that issue with any other pairs. Logo is a bit bulky and unappealing, but in regards to quality they are fairly comparable to top name brand golf gloves.

Either way in my opinion the glove is not the most important thing when I am playing, so if I can save some $$ when I can and get some more rounds in I'll do what is necessary.

I like them as they fit correctly, large for 8”.   I have had problems with the seems blowing out. Of the 4 pack the 1st went about 12 rounds, 2nd didn’t finish 3, 3rd has gone 10 with no issues so far.  Failure mode for me have been at the seams.  However, they were at different points, inside of index finger and heel, so that suggests manufacturing issues vs a design issue.  For $20 they are worth it as I tend to wear down gloves quickly anyways.  Although if the 4th lasts less than 10 I may say not worth it.  I usually wear out the heel area.

I've used these gloves on many training days at the range. Probably have about 1000 balls hit on 1 pair. They're very durable and comfortable. I have long fingers and the stretching that everyone speaks of worked out perfectly for me. I think they're a great value and would buy them again.

Very nice review @BrownBearGolf I bought these on a whim on a recent trip to Costco. I have played Footjoy StaSofs, Titleist Players and Perma Soft gloves for many years. I was surprised to find the Kirkland Signature gloves were easily as good as the $19 Perma Softs and very close to the StaSofs and Players gloves. One limitation though is available sizes. Costco doesn't sell Cadet sizes, at least not in my hometown. It's not a big deal, my fingers are somewhere between Cadet and Regular nd the Kirklands work just fine, They are an amazing deal for $5 per glove. After playing one round, I went back and bought more!

It looks like a good day to play golf!

I kind of have to laugh at the amount of hate that Kirkland gets.  I would say that with any name brand gear, much of what you are paying for is a name.  So, why wouldn't Kirkland gloves be at least halfway decent?  Im sure they go through one of the suppliers that a well-known glove is made by.

I usually play no-name gloves, either Maxfli or Zero Friction One-Size and I find them to be just as good as any Footjoy glove is.  I know this because in the spring I needed gloves and Meijer was sold out of the ZF gloves and I wasn't going to pay $17 for a leather Maxfli glove, so I did the Footjoy 2-pack and they were just meh.  I was like, "whats so great about these Footjoy gloves again???"

I’m solidly on the fence: I buy Kirkland gloves and use them exclusively for all practice/range sessions....

When I get to the 1st tee out comes the Titleist player’s glove.

I've been buying and using the Kirkland gloves since last year.  Pleased with them, haven't had some of the durability issues others have mentioned.  They do stretch a bit over time, but I've experienced that with higher priced gloves from other manufacturers, so it isn't an issue for me.

Bought two four-packs a month or two ago, all four gloves are going strong.  We've been having the gulf coast humidity portion of our summer, have had to rotate gloves each round and weekend.  It could mitigate some of the wear issues.  <shrug>

Overall I'm pleased, which may be pretty obvious by my having bought two fourpacks this year.

Are you finding their sizes match up pretty well to other brands?  You know, at some point we're going to start seeing "Kirkland" adorn tour player hats, shirts, and bags... and there goes the bargain pricing 🤣.

Don't take my word for it happening; https://mygolfspy.com/costco-kirkland-signature-wedge-lands-on-usga-list/

I would say fairly reasonable.  I'm a cadet medium, been buying kirkland small, they're about as snug as any other small size gloves are.  Maybe ever so slightly larger.

Love the Kirklands!  They run a little larger.  I wear M/L for Titleist gloves, and M for Kirklands.  Both feel the same, but Kirklands are 30% of the price.

IMO nothing feels like a Titleist Players glove but the Kirkland are nice enough, especially for the coin.
