I've been using Oakley's with Fuse Rx lenses.  The fuse lenses were about half the cost of Oakley's and I think they're better.  I mainly wear them to find my ball since I can't see far away.

I usually buy less expensive glasses for golf and work as I tend to drop and scratch them too quickly. I've replaced Oakley's, Maui Jim's for this reason and just don't like spending $300 plus on glasses every year. My current pair of cheapies are polarized and I can't wear them during golf. make my eyes wig out but I can wear them work.

I broke down and bought a pair of the Scheyden glasses that the Paulson boys are peddling on their radio show. So far they are comfortable & good for diving. I have only played one round of golf with them, sadly it was rather cloudy and didn't really need them much. I did wear them when I needed and I could see the ball pretty good, no distortion and they don't slip. As far as green reading with, jury is still out as the clouds made it difficult.

I'll be in a really sunny location next week and hoping to put them to the test on the course.

As far as premium sunglasses, I enjoy my Costa Jose’s with the blue reflection lenses on the outside, but amber lenses when looking through them. I guess I’m one of those weird guys who actually prefers polarized glasses for golf. For me, it helps me see things with “pop”, to include seeing the undulations in the greens better. For a cheaper brand, I’ve really become a fan of Shady Rays at www.shadyrays.com.

I'm a bit of a sunnies snob. Many, many years ago started with Ray-Ban. Then about 20 years ago I switched to Revo and that's all I'll wear for every day use at the moment. I'm currently wearing the Outlanders...same as these.

For golf I too have discovered Tifosi. I bought a pair of the Seek FC with the Enliven lenses and really like them.

Tifosi are the absolute best sunglasses. Love ‘em. I’m on my 3rd pair and hope that our local Edwin Watts never stops carrying them. At just under $30, they’re a steal.

I’m wearing them in my profile pic. 😅😎

Fifteen+ years ago Rayban had good lenses.  I now have multiple pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses for everyday use when a polarized lens is needed.

Tried Oakley Prizm golf glasses but did not like them.  Keep them with my fishing gear in case someone forgets or loses theirs.

For golf I wear non-polarized Vuarnet sunglasses with yellow lenses, similar to shooting glasses.  Very nice depth contrast and under the right light conditions it is easier to read greens while wearing them.

I have 3 pairs. A pair of Adidas* and Oakley* which I bought in greece on vacation. Given the price I know they are fakes, but they are still polarized and nice fits. Then I also have a pair of London Drugs house brand (maybe razr?) I dunno, but they are easily my favorites.

After years of buying good oakley sunglasses I finally went cheap and these have lasted just as long if not longer than any others.

benefits of white aviator sunglasses

There are several benefits to wearing white aviator sunglasses:

Stylish: White aviator sunglasses are a classic and stylish accessory that can complement a variety of different outfits.

Versatile: White aviator sunglasses can be worn with both casual and formal attire, making them a versatile choice for any occasion.

Eye protection: Like any sunglasses, white aviator sunglasses can help to protect your eyes from the sun's harmful UV rays. This can help to reduce your risk of developing eye health problems such as cataracts and macular degeneration.

Glare reduction: Some white aviator sunglasses may have polarized lenses, which can help to reduce glare and improve visibility in bright light conditions. This can be particularly useful for activities such as driving or participating in outdoor sports.

Face protection: In addition to protecting your eyes, white aviator sunglasses can also help to protect your face from the sun's harmful rays. This can be especially important for people who spend a lot of time outdoors and are at risk for skin cancer.

Overall, White aviator sunglasses are a stylish and functional accessory that can help to protect your eyes and face from the sun's harmful rays. They are a versatile choice that can be worn with a variety of different outfits and can be a great addition to any wardrobe.

When I am wearing corrective lenses it is these dark gray clip-ons I have had for 17+ years that are also used for driving in bright conditions.  I have a backup set in the golf bag that are dark brown tinted that went through my desert deployment.  Both are polarized.

1420956421_8_25.20222ndfairway(2).jpg.71f49e8f28100374a0567d964863b7e8.jpg

When I am going without corrective lenses which I am doing more frequently now I have been going without glasses working at home since March 2020 beginning of pandemic, these mirrored wrap arounds are my glasses of choice.  Polarizing seems to have an effect of sharpening the image that improves clarity and extends vision acuity.

39166471_20220709_102031(3)400h.jpg.5f3b8cd0b2db1d48b89688905ea2f087.jpg

The interesting note is I am going to an appointment soon for determining what my prescription is as I know there is going to be a change for less correction.  I keep my corrective lenses with me at all times when away from the house but it is the polarized non corrective lenses I am wearing even while driving putting on the corrective lenses for situations that require visual acuity at greater than a quarter mile.  Eye strain and visual fatigue are sure signs a new prescription is needed.

Curious what your further experience with these was - Don't love the price-point, but if they're as "wow" as the ads say they are, I could see investing in a pair.

I do like them and try to make sure I have them with when I play. I do not have to take them off to read greens but they aren't as POPPING on greens as the ads say. That said I do like that I don't have to take them off like other brands I have worn for golf. These are the first pair I haven't had to take off unless it's late afternoon getting dark or shadows are heavy.  If you can find a deal on them I wouldn't pass them up especially if you live in sunny areas. yeah, I'm in SoCal, and I HATE wearing sunnies (what my kids call them) on the greens, as the less-than-stellar optics literally make me dizzy - even just a slight curvature (I'm assuming it's because they're not expensive glasses) in the edges makes me see all kinds of breaks that just aren't there.  I always end up taking them off for putting, and have lost countless pairs because of this, lol.

This is something I've been trying to figure out, so after a bit of research, I ordered a few different (cheaper) brands from Amazon, all with free returns, to try out and see if one is closer to something I'd like to wear on-course.  I'll let you know if any of them stand out above the others!  (these are all in the sub-$30 category, so I'm not hoping for much, but wanted a pair to keep in my golf bag that wouldn't break the bank if I lost - someday I'll plunk down a bit more serious money for something like an Oakley/Scheyden - just not today 🙂 )

Has anyone tried non-polarized red or brown lenses for golf? From what I've read around the net, those two colours should help a lot with green reading and am curious if anyone has any experience with them?

When it comes to sunglasses I have a pair of Oakley Flak Jacket 2.0s from about.... 14 years ago that I wear regularly for sports and such.

Then I recently discovered the quality of Maui Jim and have two pairs now.  I really like their lens offerings and I always buy polarized anyway, just a personal preference.  They aren't cheap, but I was able to shop and find some good deals.  I may replace the Flak Jackets this year with sport pair from Maui.

I switched my Sim 2 Max D to a Airspeeder R Flex. It came with a Senior Flex. I found that I was getting better distance and dispersion with the R Flex 45G.  (bought it on ebay for $50) I've got the RIptide R Flex in my 3 Wood (5.5 50g) and love the club/shaft combo so much, I benched my 5 wood which had a Helium Light Senior Flex.  Too bad you're not a lefty, we could meet up and I'd let you try the Sim and/or the 3 wood.

I've been using Ray Ban Predators, with grey polarized progressive lenses for about 6 years.  They are my go-to sunglasses for golf and around town.  I like them as they are one of the most wrap around frames that will take my prescription.  The downside is they wrap around so much the temple tips can actually scratch the inside of the lenses when rattling in the case.

I've never had an issue playing with progressive lenses.

I got a pair of sunglasses from this new company out of Arizona called Valley Rays. Pretty decent sunglasses. They’re made of light weight nylon on frame and lenses. And the lenses were super clear. I got the brown lenses to help with contrast the contrast while playing. IMO best sunglasses for golfing. I got mine here https://www.valleyrays.com/products/phoenix?variant=43122632097977

As a Veteran I bought the Oakley Sylas model with the Prism Dark Golf lenses through the ID.me program  and I REALLY like those lenses. I am 60/61 on the 29th of the month and eyesight just doesn't cut it anymore and these lenses help me keep up with the ball in flight, read the greens and find the ball when it lands in a less than optimum spot.

I just picked up a pair of the Sylas frames myself, but I have them paired with the Prizm Tungsten lenses and I am loving them. I'm hesitant to try the Prizm Golf lenses, as I don't think they're dark enough for me but I have heard great things about them! I think if a set of lenses ever pop up on the bay for cheap, I'll snag them and try them out.

They have 2 versions, one is prism golf and the other is Prism dark golf. The dark version has a 22% rating on light transmission , I think the darkest the have is like 11 or 12 but some let much more than 22%in so its fairly dark. I do know I read somewhere that the non polarized versions of lenses were better for golf.

I've had a couple different brands over the past 5 years.  I had Ray Ban's New Wayfarer P for the longest.  More for looks, but the optics were ok.  Went to some Maui Jim's that I enjoyed, but last year I wanted to try prescription sunglasses.  I didn't want to drop a huge dime on a big brand prescription in case I didn't really like them so went with Kirkland lenses in a couple frames.  They actually have really nice optics and polarization.  The frame is not as sturdy as I would like, but for driving and casual activity they are fantastic.

For active - I just bought a pair of Knockaround sunglasses that I like the frame quite a bit.  The lens could be better and have less internal glare, but they are decent for $30.

Based on my good experience with the prescription pair, I'll likely look at an Oakley prizm/Maui Jim/Costa if I can find a deal and a "do it all" frame.

Yeah wearing polarized is supposed to throw off your depth perception. I haven't had any noticeable issues yet, but I can see how it can hinder things.

Do you have any more info on the veteran program that you can give us.
