Its more than just having an active USGA Handicap (GHIN number), VSGA One Day events are only open to VSGA members, which actually seems pretty fair.

If you're in it to play a golf course you wouldn't otherwise play (or might not otherwise have access to), it's worth it.

I’m not opposed to playing and not being able to win. I need to call my local club and talk to them about getting a GHIN setup.

Heck, for $40 I may just join the VSGA for this year. Royal New Kent is 5 minutes from my office so I may give it a go if I can actually start playing sometime soon.

Um not my turn, I've planned the only one in this areas so far.  Also welcome to MGS, I haven't been at the course in over 4 months!  

Besides many of the other areas have guys plan them that don't work at courses.  So you're excuses don't hold water.  If you want one, make it happen

VSGA One Days are fun and a great way to try out new courses for a very reasonable rate.  Too bad I play like crap in them, though.

The old Eisenhower course is about to open back up again. I am blessed enough that my buddy got a tee time for the week after it opens and invited me along. That wouldn't be a horrible place to go in is sorta central MD. Have we ever done like a MGS scramble to keep it light?
