Driver - I'd shoot for two older TM - R15 or M1/M2 in playable shape. Less than $100 - I'd get two old shafts for $85  proto-by-you and HZRDUS  for options.   $250max

Woods: Whatever I could find for $50- old Titleist 9...F or TaylorMade Slider 3wd  

Hybrids: older Titleist No more than $60

Irons: $2-300 - Bridgestone J15 or Ping s55/56 whichever I can find.

Wedges: Ping tour -s  54/58  $80-100

Putter - Ping Zing or Anser $20-50.

Bag - Call Jones and buy a returned bag for under $150.

$900 in .... with around $100 leftover to buy a Rangefinder used and balls at lostgolfballs

Driver:  I'd just look for something new-ish , Cobra, within the past 4 yrs for around $100. I've bought a lot of great sub $100 drivers from Offer Up, CL, etc so I know it can be done. 
3 wood: Same as Driver but I'd keep the budget round $50. 

Putter: 2 yr old Cleveland HB #11 for $100 (it's what I play now and is a hell of a putter for $100) 

Bag: Plenty of decent bags out there in the $85 range.

Sub70 has a "pre-owned"section, so I just built a set right off it.
