JOHN THORNTON
OK, I'm doing research for a book about a man who who, using only his mind, could influence a ball in flight.... Make a cut cut a little more or a hook hook a little less. I know this is just hypothetical but would it be a penalty under the Rules of Golf?No one would be able to tell that he was doing it. Your comments would really be appreciated. Thank you, John Thornton, Singapore

"Mentally controlling" the ball isn't covered, so its not against the Rules. If possible, its certainly against the spirit of the rules, and might be a violation of Rule 1, Player Conduct. Even if nobody can tell, a player is supposed to have enough integrity to abide by the rules. However, I don't believe it can actually be done. Kaplack
Don’t Talk to my ball! ( At least until it stops moving ) Too many times someone I am playing with says “Nice Shot” while the ball is in the air, until it dives into a bunker, tree ect. I didn't say I don't talk to my golf balls, I do, often loudly. I try to tell it to do what I think it would do anyway, so I look smarter than I am. But I know my discussions are pretty one-sided, me yelling, and the ball ignoring me. cnosil and TR1PTIK 2 Quote Irons Titleist T200, AMT Red stiff Rogue SubZero, GD YS-Six X T22 54 and 58 wedges 7-wood 5-wood B60 G5i putter Right handed Reston, Virginia

SlowNLow
Just like my dog, I yell at him, he ignores me and goes where he wants, and eventually I have to go find him wherever he stopped. Chip Strokes
