Putting influence on a ball in flight

OK, I'm doing research for a book about a man who who, using only his mind, could influence a ball in flight.... Make a cut cut a little more or a hook hook a little less. I know this is just hypothetical but would it be a penalty under the Rules of Golf?No one would be able to tell that he was doing it. Your comments would really be appreciated.

Thank you,

John Thornton, Singapore

As part of your research on golf, go look at the Rules of Golf, Rule 11.2.  "Mentally controlling" the ball isn't covered, so its not against the Rules.  If possible, its certainly against the spirit of the rules, and might be a violation of Rule 1, Player Conduct.   Even if nobody can tell, a player is supposed to have enough integrity to abide by the rules.

However, I don't believe it can actually be done.

Don’t Talk to my ball!

( At least until it stops moving )

Too many times someone I am playing with says “Nice Shot” while the ball is in the air, until it dives into a bunker, tree ect.

Idk, I've seen Jordan Spieth have some pretty intense conversations with his golf ball! 😆

I didn't say I don't talk to my golf balls, I do, often loudly.  I try to tell it to do what I think it would do anyway, so I look smarter than I am.  But I know my discussions are pretty one-sided, me yelling, and the ball ignoring me.

Golf balls can't hear you.  They have tiny little ears.
