TESTERS ANNOUNCED! Sub 70 699 Pro Irons

Recommended Posts

Current HDCP 16.7, North Florida

Callaway Rogue X

8 iron distance, 164

Sub 70 is a DTC company based in Sycamore, IL.  They prefer to have clients come and get fitted in their facility if possible, but provide very personalize service to get the right club in the golfers hands.  The irons are the leader of the product line, but also carry hybrids and Driver series.  All of the clubs are assembled by hand to match the specs of each client with a short turn around time.  Also if you call , there is a good chance you will interact with the CEO in making your purchase.

  3. What do you know about Sub70? Several of your articles about the company and visited the website several times poking around. Looking for new irons with a tighter standard deviation than my current set. Having a GC2 in my sim at home brought that problem with my current set to light. Was looking at 785 or i210 but would love to test these out and see what the numbers tell me. I can be as detailed as you want and can contrast and compare with several current irons.

+3.5 Handicap. Alva, Oklahoma.

Currently playing the Taylormade Rac TP MB Smoke Irons 2-PW.

Average 8 iron distance is 187.

What first comes to mind when thinking about Sub70 is the high quality of equipment you would see in Taylormade or Ping, but for a much more reasonable price. It’s amazing what you’re doing for the game of golf. I love the idea to only make clubs for the average golfer. Keep going!

1) Columbus, OH. Handicap = .3

2) Srixon 745 4-P. DGTI x100. SST Pure. 8 iron distance is right at 168

3) I really do not know much about Sub-70. I’ve seen multiple posts about the performance and value the company provides and would love to see how they stack up. I firmly believe the 745 irons are the best players cavity ever made!

1) I'm a 20 handicap in Seattle, Washington

2) I currently am playing with Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metal Pro Irons - my 8 iron distance is about 160-165.

3) I haven't heard of Sub 70, but I am always looking for new ways to improve my game. I also love having a factory direct model, like Tesla, I think it gives a better product for a better value.

Excited to rate a set!

A product with solid value never goes out of style.

Couple that with exceptional customer service, and it's an attractive package for golfers who aren't necessarily looking to take out a second mortgage to purchase some golf equipment.

That's the basic premise of Jason Hiland's company, Sub 70, that leverages a factory-direct model to keep help keep costs low.

What about performance? Well, in 2019, the Sub 70 699 iron model finished sixth in the Players Distance category of Most Wanted testing. That might not sound like much until you consider it finished ahead of Callaway, PING and Titleist. That’s an accolade worthy of some refrigerator space.

For 2020, the 699 Pro iron features a thinner topline, less offset, and a black, Tour PVD finish.

This opportunity is open to right-handed golfers residing in the United States. If interested, reply to this thread with the following information:

Playing the Ping I set from 2015, hit 8 iron about 160

I didn’t know much about sub70 before quarantine where I’ve become a huge gear nerd. Been doing research on every company and love the no markup side of sub70. I’ve been looking into getting new irons considering mine are 5 years old, and sub70 is definitely on the list. I’m a big test before you buy person, though, and I can’t really test clubs with COVID. Would love to get the chance to test some out!
