TESTERS ANNOUNCED! Sub 70 699 Pro Irons

Recommended Posts

Handicap 10, Bethesda MD

Titleist AP2 710; 8-iron 165

I first heard of Sub70 through this forum. The seemingly constant praise of their customer service is the most intriguing aspect.  We'll see how true that is based on whether I'm selected 😉

I’m going back and forth between my MP67s and MP53s. 8 iron carry with the 67s is about 155-160 and with the 53s 165is.

ive been following the brand for a while and if they can make a club that performs and feels similar to what I’m currently using I’d be happy to purchase as the price is right

8 iron distance 140

i learned about Sub 70 from reading your iron evaluation last season. That has been my only exposure. I have not seen their clubs in person. The pictures online look nice. I have always been concerned about the dark finish holding up over time.

1. My handicap is a 13.5 and I'm from Sacramento CA.

2. My current irons are Taylormade Burners and my 8 iron goes anywhere from 170-180.

3. I have only heard about Sub 70 a few times. All I can remember is that they're direct to consumer.

48 year old in financial services, loves the look and playability of blade irons. Div 1 college golf, 10 yrs mini tour exp and currently play to a 1 hdcp. Previous irons played... multiple year titleist and mizuno mb, and currently play ping blueprint.

What I like about these irons is the custom shape, PVC finish, and the uniqueness of an up and coming company! Please select me as a spokesman for your fantastic looking product!!!

  2. Cleveland TA3, 150ish
  3. Discovered them a few weeks ago when looking at/for new irons, following them on social media. Love the story - DTC model looking to create a space for themselves via outstanding craftsmanship and customer service. The clubs look incredible.

Oh my, wow. Seriously, what an amazing opportunity for the entrants ... and would love to participate, but the #CCC4 has got me eyeing the Forged TECs in their one length shafts. And that’s even after they scored lower in the MGS Most Wanted Players Distance Iron category than that of the Sub 70 699 irons.

I’ll add that my bag is short of a 5W/3hybd and I’ve been eyeing their 939x and Pro fairways, along with their hybrid. Based on the email interactions I’ve had with the gang at Sub 70, fantastic company from a customer service standpoint.

Best of luck everyone!

1. 20ish Handicap from Grand Rapids, MI

2. Callaway x-series irons, 8-iron distance 140-150

3. I honestly had never heard of Sub 70 until I saw this post. After looking at their website and reading some reviews of their clubs they seem like the type of company I would love to use a product from. To be honest, it's hard for me and just about any of the average golfer these days to afford any of the top name brand clubs, and it's kind of disappointing. Sub 70 seems like an honest company that is trying to give those average golfers the opportunity own a new set of clubs that doesn't involve backing up the Brinks truck. I only have the clubs I do because I bought them used for what seemed like a good price.
