Today we had to say goodbye to our dog Freya. She had been part of our lives for 12 years and will be sorely missed. She was a Hungarian Viszla, and really lived up to the Velcro dog label. Whenever I was working outside she would be glued to my side. Sorry to hear about your loss. Our pup is 12 yrs old and just been diagnosed with congestive heart failure - but is on meds. Dogs are such an important part of families.

So sad.  What a great dog!  The pro and his girlfriend at our old course had a Hungarian Viszla.  My wife and I would head out to the course after work and play with them.  Sometimes they brought their dog and would scare up some jackrabbits.  That dog was fast, but couldn't catch those rabbits!!

Getting another dog??

Sorry to hear this.  We put ours down a few years ago.  
 

The vet gave us a chance to say goodbye before he gave her injection.  Everyone was standing there awkwardly so I went first.  Cried like a baby.  She and I were close.  Dang it, there’s dust in the air again 😢

My heart is hurting for you and the family.  Dog lifespans are woefully too short.  We have gone through this 4x in our 36 year marriage and raising kids with paws... it's excruciating.  But, Freya lived a good, long life by canine standards and your memories of her will eventually replace the sorrow.  All the best!
