You have the one with the slope function right? I ended up buying the one without since a majority of the courses I play do not change in elevation very much. We will definitely have to compare notes, very interested in seeing how these two technologies can work together.

Yep sure do.  Also made me realize how bad I am at judging distances when there is elevation involved..lol

Random question, but I’m genuinely curious ... outside of Phil and Bubba, who are some of the other Tour players that wear a wrist watch (not including Whoop straps) during tournament play?

I’m unsure. It’s not something I’ve paid attention to before, but I couldn’t think of any.

Didn’t even realize Phil and Bubba did so. Must be a lefty thing.

When I moved to a laser after using a watch & apps, I was shocked at how much the slope changed some distances on courses I was used to playing. I didn't think there was much of an elevation change either, then once I got the laser I started dropping balls a lot closer to the middle of the green.

Don't ask me how well I putt.

I'm curious as well. Most don't wear watches.  I'll have to take a look at the last few tourneys and see.

Lol..yeah I was surprised seeing that even on a slight  barely noticeable incline, there could be a club difference getting the approach closer to the hole versus a long putt.

Here’s to hoping the weather cooperates for all 10 of us once the watches are rcvd. 🙏🏼

Nothing but 100% rain in the forecast for us here over the next 10 days. ☹️

So far, I'm looking like I'll be lucky enough to not have complete washouts, but who knows:

Unfortunately, it looks unlikely we will be getting the watch before I leave for my pebble beach trip on Wednesday. However, I will still provide plenty of jealousy inducing photos. I just won’t be able to show off the LX5 as well

No way! What a perfect opportunity to test the watch! Especially with the slope reading for the greens ... massive bummer, man.

Def shoot some low scores and enjoy that trip. Jealous already. 😆

My course lost power and is on damage control removing branches and such.  Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

(It's not far from Trump National, so if they're also affected by power, you know powerful people will get upset 😉

If any LX5 tester can compare it to the Garmin S62, I’d appreciate it, specifically as to the screen.

The LX5 according to the specs has a much higher resolution (454 x 454 pixels vs. 260 x 260) on a screen that is about the same size (Skygolf says theirs is 2mm larger, but the bezel could cover some of that). So I would expect the LX5 to look a lot better assuming no differences in the brightness or glare.

It doesn’t take much elevation change to make a difference. I play on a course that’s a mile from the Gulf but there’s a little ridge here, Tom Fazio moves some dirt there and suddenly you have shots that are impacted by half a club - just tricky enough to miss a green and dump it in a trap or leave a putt in that dreaded zone.

Tour Exotics 3 wood is in the bag because we are allowed 14 clubs.  It's a great club for pulling balls out of the water or from bushes - you never want to put your hand into anything in Florida unless you are absolutely certain that it's safe.  There are rare wind conditions when I might hit it off the tee on a few holes that I play.

I think this will be the most interesting part for me. I've become used to the extra data from Arccos and the calculations they use for wind and slope are quite helpful.

Going back to that mental dance of adding or subtracting for slope, wind, temperature, etc. is going to be challenging since I've been using Arccos for almost three years now.
