So if my normal distance is recorded on 80 degree days and its 50 i would only loose 3 yards. That's not even a club change in distance. Got to be more to it! That’s less than I remember, but it would only be the one millionth time I was wrong! Hook DeLoft
Maybe you’re right about the injected material becoming harder in lower temps. That would affect the sound and might decrease the amount of face flex. Tom the Golf Nut
I have been playing the 699 Pro's since August in all types of weather. No rust on my clubs. I have the satin finish and they still look as good as when I got them. I know the black did not hold up as well, but I haven't heard of any rust from anyone that went with the black. I've been busy lately and we've had special tournaments going on the past few weekends so I've been relegated to mostly range work. I've let several people hit these on the range lately and the consensus is they're just as good as any other iron in this category. One guy, who plays TM 790s actually said he liked the way these felt over his gamers. I think this iron is big enough to inspire confidence in someone who may not be the best ball striker, yet are not overly large to where someone who prefers a smaller club head will feel like they're swinging a shovel. They really are a nice balance that can fit a lot of people. @Smellis745 would you say the topline on these is thinner or about the same as a Callaway Mavrik? I am looking into possibly buying a used set on the forums of 699 Pros and one of the things I am looking for is a thinner top line than my gamers. To be honest, I’ve never touched a Callaway Mavrik iron so I have no clue. What I can say, is the top line is not offensive in any way. It’s not far off from my Srixon Z745s I regularly play. I don’t have the pic any longer, but in my review I did a side by side compare pic. I still have the set I reviewed for the site and Sub70. I’ve never really put a lot of thought in it, but if someone local would like to have them, hit me up. I’ve tried to make these work and have even taken them out for a few rounds since the review, but I’m not near as consistent with them as either set of Srixons I have. They are bent to a 63 degree lie on the 7i and .5 degree each direction from there. Shaft is the KBS Tour X and they play 1/2” long. A little concerning if a 3.5 handicap such as yourself is having trouble staying consistent with the 699 pros but again could be the clubs just didn't fit your swing or eye. I have been look at the topline measurements of the sub 70 clubs and measuring to what I have and looks like the top line is about as thin as my old wedge which is probably where I want it. The Mavriks have a very chunky topline but they are a game improvement iron. If I paid for shipping would you be willing to ship them out to me? I think admins have allowed it in the past so someone else could test something that didnt quite fit you well. Just wanted to get a better understanding of what you mean by bent lies but you had each club lie bent 0.5 degrees up and down starting at 63 with the 7I? sirchunksalot and MattF 2 Quote Driver : SIM2 Max 9* MC Kuro Kago Silver 60 Stiff Woods : GS53 3 Wood 14* Mitsubish Tensei Blue 73g Regular Hybrids: 949X Project X HZRDUS RDX Black Irons : 699 Pro Black 5-AW 1* flat KBS Tour V 90 Stiff Shafts Wedges : 52, 56, 60 Putter : Spider Red Bag : lightweight cart bag | Dry Series Bag Ball : TP5 PIX (2019) | ProV1x (2021) Rangefinder : ULT-X Pushcart : M5 GPS DHC Electric Push Cart SoCal, USA Right handed HDCP 16.

You are correct, 7i lie angle is 63 degrees and every club from there goes in .5 degree increments. The main thing with these irons for me where that they didn’t fit the flight window I like to see. They were very flat and came in with a shallow descent. Prior to switching to the LZ, I played KBs Tours in my irons. Never had that issue before and a different shaft might have fixed it. If you paid shipping, I’d send them to you. I can get a quote sometime Monday. Although, you’d definitely need to reshaft them based on what you’re currently swinging. Factor that in to your cost. These are a .370 hosel, so parallel tipped shafts are what’s needed. golfish!
@Smellis745 thanks let me know what the cost to ship them would be. What is the makeup of your set? I'll look at reshafting costs at my local pro shop. I currently play a true temper elevate 95. Also I looked on the sub70 site and looks like you only had the lie adjusted .5* upright overall. Not sure if that will make a big difference. As for parallel tipping whats the difference between that and non parallel?
