Is there a firm date yet on when these heads will be available in fitting carts? I know pre-orders start on 8/31 but it's unclear if that is the first date they will be available or just the first day the system will allow orders. 

Based on what people are saying it sounds like these heads are already in some people's hands...

From what I have heard they will start showing up in most fitting carts the last week of the month. Some prime accounts may get them sooner.  But I'd say in about two-three weeks, a lot of fitters should start having them.

Yeah, the P7 line is able to be ordered today.   

In addition to the companies having different approaches to marketing.   Don't forget MizunoGolfNA is a very small segment of Mizuno Corporation, and as such has a much smaller budget than the Big Four Golf companies.   And by nature they generally take their time to get things right, as opposed to trying to rush something just to be first. 

That said, I can see where TM is positioned to take advantage of that golfer that sees all these new lines, and wants to get something in hand NOW!   Not personally speaking of course, just some might 🙂

I'm just glad both companies got together with Congress and are releasing new lines with the possibility of another stimulus check. Can they just send my check to Mizuno? I know my wife and kids would love to see their dad happy.

I wonder if the 921 forged chromoloy steel is as soft feeling as the boron used in the 919F. I still see the 919 F in stock locally and if the 921's arent as good feeling I would rather pick up the 919F's... I remember reading the MGS article where the author shared the same concerns.

It was actually up on Aug 10 when all the preview pieces went up. The reviewers and dealers are starting to get the heads in this week for fittings.

Ian @ TXG said they're money. He said the HM are the best feeling GI iron he's ever hit. Not sure how much Chromoly is in the HM vs the Forged but that's probably as good as it gets in terms of someone vouching for them. TXG does a pretty good job at being unbiased in their tests.

That's great to hear, thanks. I've narrowed it down to the 921F and the HMB.... will schedule a fitting once the 921's arrive at the local shop and see which one seals the deal!

TXG said that the embargo applied to testing with GCQuad data or the like. Rick Shields did a video right around the time the TMs were released but shared no performance numbers same with the release article from MSG apparently that's why TXG waited on their video, but others went ahead without the data.

I think it was a matter of them just getting the heads at the same time.  I don't think anybody had the actual heads until late last week and this week.   I'm sure mizuno sent them out to everyone at the same time.    OEM's often put the details and info out about a product several weeks before they make the product available in hand.   

Titleist will most likely be the same way with its' Woods release this late summer/fall.

Ah, good to know.  I should have thought of that as well, as that's been done before with other releases, letting the reviewer show them, but not give any data until a later date.

  I wasn't able to see the entire live feed, so I missed that part.

Took my JPX919 Tours into the PGA Superstore where my buddy works and tested them against the JPX921 Tour and Forged. With all the talks of the new Forged having a more compact size, I decided to give them a try because who doesn't like more distance and forgiveness? When hitting my 919 Tour, my 7 iron was consistently going 172-175 yards total. With the 921 Tour, it went to 175-178. I honestly wasn't expecting there to be a jump in distance since the lofts are the same (34°) but the added yards were a pleasant surprise. The Forged look really good behind the ball. I have a 919 Forged 4 iron that was always a bit too clunky looking to my eye but these 921 are much more aesthetically pleasing. The 7 iron is 31° which is more comparable to my Tour 6 iron which is 30°. The Chromoly makes a difference, let me tell ya. The feel is just as I'd expect, but that 0.5mm difference in face thickness definitely gave me ball speed. I was hitting the 7 iron 194-198 yards and my 1° stronger 6 iron was only touching 190 yards. That's unreal! I just went in to see the difference and now the irons I was in love with are suddenly looking to be replaced, haha. Try these out if you haven't yet!

Just got fitted for the first time yesterday and ended up ordering the JPX921 HM Pro's. Really.. REALLY liked them. Gained 14yds carry with 7i over my current knock-offs and they were a little longer and more consistent than all the others I hit (including the regular more forgiving Hot Metals)

While I've been doing my normal drive to the course each day since early May, my Fiance is in much the same situation as you, her commute is 45 minutes in stop and go traffic each way.  She works in the IT area of a school system and have been working at home since March 25th, I think.  She has driven maybe a total of 100 miles since March, basically a once a week trip to the grocery store that is 2 miles down the road, and a maybe a few other errands on a Saturday just to get out.    She has gotten numerous reminders from her service company that her car is past due for an oil change 🙂

While I've been doing my normal drive to the course each day since early May, my Fiance is in much the same situation as you, her commute is 45 minutes in stop and go traffic each way.  She works in the IT area of a school system and have been working at home since March 25th, I think.  She has driven maybe a total of 100 miles since March, basically a once a week trip to the grocery store that is 2 miles down the road, and a maybe a few other errands on a Saturday just to get out.    She has gotten numerous reminders from her service company that her car is past due for an oil change 🙂 

 

 

It is amazing I finally need an oil change, my last one was in February which is just crazy to me. I still have to bring the kids to daycare so I have been driving a bit more than your wife, but it has been a nice change to be sure. At this rate I might actually get my tires to last more than a couple years.

Same with her on buying a new car, she has a 2009 Corolla with 140,000 miles and it's in better shape than most 3 year old cars.  But she has been able to put off buying a new one for probably a year now, as they dont expect to be back in the building until at least the first of the year.   She wants her next car to be her last, so she's trying to put it off as long as she can.

Totally get that. I actually just got a new car last summer since mine was getting up there, if I had help off I would have been in the same boat. It was an 08 Camry with like 120,000 on it (previous owners drove it very little). But, makes me feel like this current car is gonna last a lot longer than I expected.

As long as you do the basic routine maintenance for Camry/Corollas and most other naturally aspirated Toyotas, 140k is just getting warmed up.
