SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted July 13, 2011 SPY VIP Share Posted July 13, 2011 That is a definite improvement over the honey dip finish, IMO Used the CA Monterey for a while last year and it is a great feeling putter. Will there be new models, or just finished and dots? Volvo Intorqueo All the cool kids follow me on twitter: @GolfspyDave If you are not a cool kid, following me on twitter will make you cool... Matt Saternus
So, if they're giving up the honey dipped finish, what separates the Studio series from the California series? Also, FWIW, I think the new dots look terrible. I do love that headshape, though, regardless of who makes it. They just need to stop ruining it with sight lines. skihippy
I too am wondering if there is going to difference between the select series and the California series. I liked the honey dipped looked, I was concerned with how it would look once it faded. finalist
The big guys fear not putting sight lines on their putters. I was told a story that a putter CAD file was sent in for milling the first proto. The CAD did not include a sight line and the maker did not want one. When the milling plant got the CAD file they saw there was no line so they put one on anyway (!@#$#@!!!). The maker was upset and the milling plant said you'll never sell anything without a line. The maker eventually got his putter done the way he wanted and sold a ton. Xerox has a retail fear. I spy with my little eye something...
