Well the first images were worse...most likely because they were almost 100% fakes. These might go over a little better with golfers. But basically the same design.

The big weight is still on the ugly side, almost looking like an after thought. But it is better silver than red.

I stand by my post from the blog: the R11 driver seems to be aimed at better players, so why aim the R11 iron at the super game improvement segment?

So the SGI crowd buy the driver as well, realize they can't hit it then get something else.

I don't understand why Taylormade is coming out with these since they already have the Tour Prefered CB's, seeing as these look like essentially the same thing. Knowing Taylormade they are probably counting on the fact that R11 fanatics will buy these just to say they have them. Bet the R11 badge on these make them longer and straighter than the TP CB. ;)

Think when it hits stores you might just get what you ask for Bortwein. Red from what I have heard will be the retail color.

I kind of miss the Red Weight.

Just saw a TaylorMade catalog sheet for the new R11 irons and I could not believe what I saw - the weight port on the back cavity is RED!

Just putting that out there. I will post the sheet when I find out its OK to do so.

I can get the heads if anyone is interested. They're tour issue and 100% legit. The red weight versions On eBay are 100% fake.

In The Bag
Driver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x
Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x
3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400

SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
LW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
XW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger stepped
Putter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

The red weight version will be the version they come out with at retail. The ones you can most likely get have grey weights but are legit as well.

The red weight ones on eBay, however, are fake. That's what I was getting at. The only legit ones on there are grey weights, and that seller is legit, well the seller that had the only grey ones I saw yesterday anyway. The Tour Van is his seller name.

These fakes are a real problem for us consumers. I don't worry too much when they are in the clearly looks like class but at the counterfeit level they can be a real pain. These things can have subtle faults that make golf even more difficult than it needs to be. The faults can be in bounce, lie, loft, material, ...anywhere or all. It makes buying new clubs a job and a half.

Thank God the only thing I really need to improve in my bag these days is my 3 wood.

These iroons are a mix between the Tour Preffered CB's and the Burner 2.0 so i wouldnt put them in as "super game improvement irons" they're more towards the high end of the game improvement selection.
