I love the spying. I'm already finding myself reading reviews differently.

 

We've decided not to name names this time around and this series isn't really about any one company. The overwhelming majority of the companies (even the Big OEMs) we work with are outstanding, and while a small number have chosen not to work with us (sometimes it's temporary, sometimes not), it's an even smaller number who've decided we must have a personal agenda above and beyond simple sharing our test results or stating what we believe to be true. The majority of times, as they should, differences remain at the business level, and the outstanding PR people we work with keep it professional, and even friendly on those occasions when we disagree. Unfortunately, there's always going to be "that guy". It's probably fair to say that "that guy", probably thinks I'm "that guy".

 

 

To an extent the series is about the obvious (money drives everything in the industry), and that we're trying to find a way to do things differently. Ultimately that means walking away from the most lucrative advertising opportunities in order to maintain our independence and retain our ability to speak our minds to the fullest. We're hoping all of you will become our partners in bucking the trend. Simply by pointing a more critical eye at the reviews and other content you read, you're helping the cause.

 

Who said what is mostly inconsequential, but we thought it was about time others got an inside look at the realities we face.

I'd rather bury my head in the sand. I hate being told that I didn't give a perfect review that the OEM wanted. GEEEEZ......... Lets all live in a Sugar Coated Sweet Bumble Bee Honey Granulated Sugar Plum world, where all we do is smile everyday and all golf products are THE BEST EVER! GOLD MEDAL WINNERS! FOREVER AND EVER! I like dreaming cause dreaming can make you mine, I like swinging super duper Golden drives....... hitting Fairways every time!

Cool, I can understand that... Question though. After you (or anyone) say you will not cave to the financial pressure, do most companies still try to work with you or do they just walk? I doubt they would want to loose future press because of one or 2 honest reviews....
