They have a release coming in 4 sleeps. That looks like it’s the TW grind wedge that has been Tour only so far and a few guys like Rahm have in their bag as well as tiger.

Three new irons as well as the TW MG2 wedges. The irons are p770, p7mc and p7mb. Rory put the MB in play a few weeks ago.

They are really nice looking clubs. Saw them last week. I liked the 770 the most, the mc and mb looked to unforgiving to me.

Agreed. That 770 is gorgeous.

Taylormade always had pretty sweet designs.  Those MCs look sleek.  And relatively normal loft strength which im excited about. There's too many irons nowadays with "hit it farther" as their selling point, that are just 3 degrees stronger than average.  Curious how these look and feel in person

Taylormade nailed it with this launch. Imo the p series has been good since they came out. The 760s seemed to be a meh club for many and they liked the 750s. Having 4 irons that can blend well for combo sets is a bonus.

Also the TW grind wedges are nice

All the new irons look great this cycle, and I agree that I think the P770 is filling the gap well. For those that have been having an issue with the jacked loft trends all the new TM offerings are a step back with Wedges at 46/47 and more consistent 4 ish degree loft gaps. Interesting to see if this holds up with other companies this time around. It seems like there is a bit of a trend to at least moderate this trend and return some focus to consistent distances with the irons instead of just distance at least in the better player, and even players distance irons

All three sets are gorgeous, and I love that they made the lofts more blend-able across sets. TM is going to sell so many of these.

If the performance was there for me (which I'm sure it would be) these could make me defect from my Mizuno fanboism. Those 770s look beautiful, and the MBs... whew!

I'm a Mizuno fanboi since I bagged the 900 Tours and can honestly say that ever since, I had a hard time imagining bagging something else. It's completely superficial and probably detrimental to my game, but I loathed the thought of hitting other irons during my next fitting, and wondered what I would do if it came down to choosing based purely on performance. I admittedly would probably make all the excuses in the world to stay with a Mizuno, but for the first time, I could see a non-Mizuno in my bag. It might be because they look like they could be a cousin of Mizuno

The 790s are so versatile, players between +hdcp up to 25 are gaming them they said! I thought something similar when selected for the JPX 900 Tour testing. I was a 12 at the time, but they fit me well and I would eventually break 80 for the first time while gaming the same irons Brooks was winning majors with. There's probably an infinitely-larger gap between my game and BK's, than the two of us. No iron is going to save you from a bad swing, but a well-fit iron will perform better for you on a majority of your swings. I honestly don't think that from 8i down you would even see much in terms of performance gains. Speed slots disappear, offset drops off, _____ (insert whatever else tech you see in 4-7 typically) just doesn't seem to be prevalent in most SGI/GI sets once loft takes over.

My only hesitation with the 790 would be fliers. I like my irons to go a certain distance, strike permitting. Slight mishits dropping 10y is totally fine with me, but random nuke balls are not.

Well now I know I can use a scapegoat when the misses comes knocking why there is another package on the doorstep.....

one positive thiugg is I don’t think my golf knowledge has ever been this high and I’m looking at things very differently on course. Thanks all on MGS.

Thanks for the encouragement. I told myself no new irons until I get my fitting at TXG. That fitting won't happen for a while, not until after things calm down significantly with Covid to the point where my wife feels safe traveling again (that's going to be a long time). Let's see if I can hold myself to not buying new irons until then lol.

Personally, I don't think it's a direct copy, but I don't think it's outlandish to say that they might've had some inspiration. I think it's just a change in the market, and Mizuno might've marketed heavy emphasis on combo sets before other OEMs starting with the 919 line. I'm as big of a Mizuno fanboy as anyone, but this is just a shift towards current trends as people start to understand that a bladed 3-5i might not be good for them if the tour pros are using combo sets and hybrids. I think they're just nervous that for once, someone other than Mizuno has come out with such a beautiful line top to bottom. This P7 line is no joke!

That's the thing though, plenty of other OEMs have made it easy to blend sets and companies like Nike, when they made hard goods, and Cobra have offered CB/MB combo sets for ages. I just don't see how anyone can look at the new P700 range and so easily call it a copy of Mizuno and their MP line-up. The other area some folks seem to think inspiration came from is in the naming, which I also think is a huge stretch. OEMs have been referring to blades as MBs, or musclebacks, for ages and the MC in the P7MC stands for Muscle Cavity, which other companies have used, but the MC in MP 20 MMC doesn't stand for Muscle Cavity, its Multi Material Concept.

TM have definitely in the past drawn inspiration from other companies with some of their clubs, but saying the new P700 range is inspired by the Mizuno MP 20 range doesn't hold up, imo at least. I think you may be right though that perhaps its some insecurity over how quality this P700 line-up looks.

Can’t wait to try out the P770’s.  I might actually make a special trip to hit them.  Seems to be so much going on, and in the lineage of my beloved RBZ Tour’s... call me a fanboy, but TM has always tugged at my heart.
