Cam.36
Hi All, Just wondering how everyone is finding the delays in production from golf manufactures. Is it a good thing as more people are getting into golf and buying new equipment or is is just a delay as parts haven't been delivered from China or is it the reduced head count at the assembly lines? What sort of delays have people seen and how do you push back when it's too long? Who is the worst for the delays? Personally Have see 3 weeks from Callaway for a 5 hybrid head, 5 weeks from Evnroll for a ER7CS and 5 months and counting from Mizuno for a 6 iron. anyone top 5 months? AmishJason
The only extended lead time I know the specifics of is Ben Hogan Golf. They have it right on the main page of their website and update it daily. Right now their lead time on new clubs is just under 30 days instead of their normal 14 days. For being closed for 6 weeks earlier this year, I'd say that's not a bad lead time. I've kept half an eye on it out of curiosity since they started posting daily updates and they have hovered around a 30 day lead time for a couple months now. rkj427
Forgot to mention that when he first ordered his set, he was told 2 - 4 weeks for delivery. Nothing too out of the ordinary, at least I don't think so for his set make-up. 4 - P, 2 degrees flat, KBS Tour Shafts and Tour Velvet Cord grips. GolfSpy AFG
I'm curious too; ordered TS3 hybrids last week. They're custom in that the Evenflow Blue I requested is not a stock option, but that's a no-charge upgrade and not a very "exotic" shaft...shouldn't add much to lead time. Urbs_Valhalla
I got fit the first week of July for a Callaway Driver and Fairway, Ping Irons and Titleist wedges. I didn't receive a single club until September 17th. The clubs I did receive were my driver and two wedges. My fitter danced back and forth telling me it was either a head or shaft shortage. I eventually canceled my ping order all together after being told my the local Ping Rep that manufacturing of custom clubs would start again till November. I was able to get a 5-PW set of cobras fit with custom shafts. I canceled my remaining order and I'm waiting for the fitter to refund me for the clubs and services he was unable to provide. skyryder
A few months ago I ordered a set of the Arccos club tags along with the GPS unit as a package. Shortly after that I received an email that they were back ordered and would be shipped in the order ordered, expected delivery was August/Sept time frame. Then got an email that they had started shipping the units. A couple of weeks ago, got another email that there was a "manufacturing" issue and would be further delayed. What I cannot understand is WHY they are still offering the product for sale, knowing full well they cannot fulfill those orders in the near future. It is maddening, plus my credit card has been charged. Yes, I know I can raise a stink and probably get my money back in short order, just wish I could understand what in this business practice seems okay. The simple answer is Covid and that nothing is like it has been in the past. Suppliers of raw components provide dates and based on those dates other dates are generated. When the first date shifts all the others do. The potential issue with not offering things for sale if they aren’t available is that people will go elsewhere or it come back and purchase. You bought and are not asking for a refund; win for supplier. They hope most people do that. Not saying that I agree but companies need sales to stay in business and shutting down won’t be an option. DevilDog29
I just went for a fitting last week. I wish I would've seen the amount of delays everyone is experiencing prior to purchasing my set. CWilson216
I went for a fitting on 9/10 and 9/17. The first day was for irons, ended up with Mizuno JPX921. They were not scheduled for release until the 17th so I pre-ordered a week prior. I received them on 10/8. I was told 3-4 weeks from my fitter and he was damn near spot on. Three weeks from release date and 4 from fitting day. Sucked waiting but I was told a few other manufactures are even worse! He said he couldn't even give an ETA for Ping but said it could be upwards of 12 weeks. On driver fitting day, I came away with Titleist TS2. The fitter had one in stock and just needed to change out the grip, but the Fairway wood and hybrid just shipped today. My 3W shaft was backordered, not technically a Titleist problem, but still....it was a stock shaft option. jonwrightphotos 1 Quote Driver: TS2 10.5* - Tensei AV Blue 55 S Fairway Wood: TS2 16.5* - Tensei AV Blue 65 S Hybrids: TS2 19.0* - Tensei AV Blue 70HY S Irons 5-GW: JPX 921 Hot Metal - Pro Nippon Modus 3 Tour 105 S Wedges: T-20 54 | 58 | M-Grind - Nippon Modus 105 Putter: ER2B MidBlade Black - Gravity Grip Ball:
