T-SERIES BLACK ON TOUR

T-Series irons have quickly become the most-played iron model on the PGA Tour, where Titleist has been the longstanding #1 iron since 2005. Cameron Smith won the Sony Open in Hawaii playing a set of T100 Black irons. Lanto Griffin, who put in his request for black T100’s after seeing Smith post a picture of them on Instagram, used them to win the Houston Open.

“The first time I saw these irons they looked so good I didn’t want to put a scratch on them,” said Smith. “The black finish just looks tighter to me and really fits my eye. It also helps to keep a little bit of the shine off which I really like.”

T100•S TECHNOLOGY

I’m one that doesn’t get excited over “releases” like this. They’re just black. Same with the SM8 wedges. Not a new club, or an improvement in performance, just black.

I’m a sucker for a good looking black finish on irons and wedges. The t100s are pretty sexy imo. Paired with the all black sm8s would make one good looking bag

I like the black look, but I'm tired of seeing these manufacturers use the PVD finish. It is just not durable enough to be used on irons that are hit off the ground and in the sand. I guess if you are the type of person buying new irons every year then this won't be a problem, but for those of us that keep them awhile, I have a feeling that my short irons are going to end up with a raw steel finish on the soles after 2 or 3 years and look terrible. 

I'm really interested in the Ping G710 irons and the one thing that is holding me back is that I don't want them to look like trash in 3 years. I wish Ping gave the option for a different finish like Titleist is doing here....

I'm guessing these clubs were played a lot, but they can't be more than 2 years old...

These are absolute fire!! But I agree Chitown that Black PVD doesn't hold up really well. I wanted to get your guys opinion on this. Would you swap out 4-6 620 CB for 4-6 t100? I was thinking about doing that but in chrome not black hahaha

I don't mind the fading/wearing of black.  I have been playing black for some time now.  

I ordered the black T100-s already haha.

It was more of a general statement for my fellow lefties.  The Mizuno MP-20'S will be with me until the day I die...

For anyone thinking they don't look as black ss some others. I spoke to someone at Titleist today and they said, the pictures don't really show how black they are.  Said the T200 in particular looks spectacular.
