Pete1979
I really need a new putter and found a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 special for £160. It's 2016 model but never used (present when starting but never continued). Does it look legit and is a 2016 model (I think it 2016 from research) with it, even if it's new Link to comment
MGoBlue100
I replied in your Buy, Sell, Trade post that I'd be VERY skeptical. There is a Scotty Facebook group that reviews these sorts of things, if you're a FB user. "Where'd it go?" "Right in the Lumberyard..." reedmd
I"m not an expert either, but if you compare the sole plate, it appears that the sole plates are different. The authentic appears to be laid on top of the putter head (you can see through the two indentations), but it appears the one in your picture looks like the indentations are pressed into the metal. Additionally, the authentic Scotty "Select Mallet 2" inscription differs from the "M2 Select Newport". https://www.scottycameron.com/archives/putters/2016/select/newport-mallet-2/ Link to comment

If you go through the various years in the Cameron Putter archive, the sole plate engraving is wrong. https://www.scottycameron.com/putter-archive/ However, if you do some image searches you will find others with that same engraving. You would need serial number and to call titleist to see if it is authentic since the pictures aren't really good enough to evaluate. Firebird
I agree, a mate bought one cheap and the first thing we noticed was the quality of the cover. And that one looks the same as his. Cabby
I sold my Newport 2 for around the same price so not sure if it's the price that makes you think it's a copy or not but mines was also a 2016 model. Link to comment
Buffly
I think all Scotty's are ripoffs. I would just buy a Ping or Evnroll. Scotty's are one of the most highly produced forgeries in the underground club market of knockoffs. Dhgate is a website that had lots of them for around that price. If I was buying a Scotty used then I would get it from a reputable source and not eBay: Globalgolf.com Golfpreowned.com 2ndswing.com Rockbottomgolf.Com Or just get a Ping or Evnroll to avoid all that forgeries nonsense. Golf is simple - people are complicated. 5w Taylormade SLDR S 19* - 220yd, Ping G2 5-U - 190-105, Maltby M+ 54* & MG 60* - 95-75, Evnroll ER8, Titleist 816 H1 4h 21*, Maltby 4 Hybrid Iron 24* - 210-200, Callaway XR16 8* - 235 carry Link to comment
