PING G425

Man, I’d love to test these! Keeping distance, but hitting more fairways would be awesome. Hopefully, the swing work will help accomplish this, but when Ping said they wouldn’t release a new Max until they had one that’s better than the 400, and now one is coming, I’d have to give it a shot.

Driver: Ping G430 Max 9*, Ping Tour 70X

Fairway: Ping G425 15*, Ping Tour 70X

Hybrid: Ping G425 22*, Ping Tour 80X

Irons:  Ping i230 4-GW, TT DG X100

Wedges: :edel-golf-1: SMS 50D/54V/58D:Nippon:Modus 130 stiff, +1”

Putter:  :edel-golf-1: EAS 1.0

Ball: Titleist 2023 AVX

The G400 has been a game changing driver for me and I can't wait to try the G425. I haven't tried the G410 at all, but I'm getting new irons this spring and might as well take a look at the lineup. I've always seemed to golf better with Pings.

John Russell

Irons: stiff shaft, standard loft/lie Nike VRS Covert 2 4-pw

Driver: 10 deg, stiff shaft Ping G400

3/5 woods: Adam's Tight Lies 2 with stiff shafts.

Putter: Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2 33inch

Wedges: Cleveland CBX 56deg, and Cleveland 588RTX 60deg.

Ball: I'm loving the Titleist DT TruSoft. It seems to be stopping on the greens well, and feels soft and pure on even a decent strike.

The fairway wood picks look clean and awesome, same looks as the driver.... It looks like it has a fixed weight in the back/bottom portion, and has some new tech like "Face Wrap"...not sure what it does though. I haven't seen a view from address, but I'm sure they are very similar to the G410 woods.

Just saw this Ping microsite for the G425 range. I'm admittedly a Ping fan, but the entire range looks great. Looking forward to new irons soon...

I think I'll be skipping the Arcos grips. I don't really want to pay for a subscription renewal and then be stuck with them. Very excited to see the driver improvements.

These along with the Titleist drivers may be the best looking drivers of 2021! Mizunos tend to look really good as well, so they may sneak into the conversation as well

Just got a rundown on the entire lineup.

image.jpeg

Looks awesome from top to bottom.   I've had the G400, G700 and G410 irons, and the G425 blow them all away in looks all the way around.  They have literally taken the G410 and I210 and came out with the G425, less thick top line, slightly shorter blade length and less offset.   You could almost say it's what Mizuno did with the 921 Forged.

But it still looks very playable, for the mid to higher cap.

The driver is really mean looking, and I mean that in a good way.  Slate colored shaft blends nicely into the head.  Reduced bulge and roll looks great.   Just a great looking driver.

FW's and hybrids no longer have tabulators, and they look so clean as well.

After my range session today, I think I need to sell every iron set I own and just start watching golf not playing it 😞

We all have those days hopefully they are few and far between. Winter will force a nice layoff for the search for that next set of irons that will do the trick.

Might I recommend the Wilson D7 Forged 🤔 I think there are reviews for them here on the forums.

Looking to hear from anyone with some first hand experience on the Ping G425 wedges.

Just been fitted for 4-PW, now considering the Gap & SW as well, did read they now use the Glide 3.0 tech in the G425 wedges which is great. Any thoughts on these?
