I feel like Ping has always been a bit slower with their roll outs. Kind of makes me think I'm missing out on some great new tech. If you were properly fitted for your G410 there is a good chance the G425 would perform nearly identical if it fits your swing the same. The year over year gains are very small. You are not missing out really, of course that never stopped me from looking at new clubs months after buying some. 2 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Smoke Black 70g 6.5 (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 15° Smoke iM10 60g 6.0 816 H1 18° Speeder HB 8.8 Stiff | 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 Stiff JPX 919 HM Pro 5 - PW Pro Tour Spec 115i Stiff | Equalizer 52° / 56° Tour V 110 Stiff SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 | Hoofer Bag | - Pro V1x | Right Handed Tracked by V3

The shaft list is different for Australia for example: https://www.golfbox.com.au/clubs/ping-g425-max-driver/ On a different topic, I'm glad this Ping G425 Max has an adjustable weight. This Sim Max I have is a bomber but is very right biased. I thought it was me, but there are two many folks on WRX that are hitting off the planet balls to the right with the Sim and Sim Max. 3 Quote Follow my golf journey to break into the 80s Tester for the Titleist TSi Driver Spring 2020 MGS Tester for the Fujikura Motore X Shaft Updated 11/13/2021 Driver: TSi 2 - Autoflex Fairway Woods: TSi2 3 wood, 5 wood - Aldila Ascent 60 S Irons: T300 5 to SW - LAGP AXS Red 85 Stiff double soft stepped Wedges: K-grind 2.0 58 wedge - Xcaliber RT Spin Wedge 100 Putter: SIK DW Armlock - LAGP 180 armlock shaft

Blueberry_Squishie 285
It's one of the only things other than snowboard models that us Aussies get before the US. I remember a weird conversation helping a friend choose their first snowboard last year. "The 2019 is last year's model... I know it's 2019 now. The 2020 is this year's model." 1 Quote Cobra F9 9.5° (Hzrdus Yellow X) H85 16° and 19° (Hzrdus Black 85 6.0) MP20 MMC 4-PW (KBS $ Taper 120S) T20 51°, 8° (KBS $ Taper 120S) T20 55°, 9° (KBS $ Taper 120S) T20 59°, 9° (KBS $ Taper 120S) Phantom X 5.5 34" ZStar XV
TR1PTIK 3,554
Ping has kind of been trending toward aerodynamics akin to the Taylormade SIM and Cobra for some time. I see that a lot more in this series of drivers based on the images released so far. I'm curious to see what Ping will say in their marketing materials surrounding this, and if there's really as much to it as it appears at first glance. I'm not suggesting that Ping is trying to copy anyone - they've had a weight ports located at the back of their club heads for a long time and since the release of G400 there's been a slight change in the shape of the sole that shares some similarities with other designs currently on the market. Ping being a lot more consistent with their designs from year-to-year, it makes me wonder if they've been onto this for a while and were concerned about consumer acceptance of designs like M6, SIM, Speedback, and Speedzone. 2 Quote Driver: Mizuno ST190 9.5* Aldila RIP Alpha 60 S Fairway Wood: Mizuno ST190 15* Fujikura Atmos Blue 6S Hyrbrid: Mizuno CLK 17* Fujikura Speeder EVO HB Irons: Bridgestone J40 CB (3-PW) Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 Wedges: Bridgestone Tour B XW-1 54* & 58* Nippon Modus 3 105 Putter: Cleveland Huntington Beach SOFT Premier 4 34" Ball: Snell MTB-X Bag: 2017 Titleist Players 5 Stand Bag
ejgaudette 3,928
Ping does always take measured approach that is for sure. The sole of the Ping is tending a bit like the TM or Cobra, though in a more subtle way. It make sense though as they have been putting tabulators, dragon fly, and the dots on the head all in the name of aerodynamics for a long time now, so looking at the aerodynamics on the sole seems like a logical next step. 1 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Smoke Black 70g 6.5 (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 15° Smoke iM10 60g 6.0 816 H1 18° Speeder HB 8.8 Stiff | 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 Stiff JPX 919 HM Pro 5 - PW Pro Tour Spec 115i Stiff | Equalizer 52° / 56° Tour V 110 Stiff SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 | Hoofer Bag | - Pro V1x | Right Handed Tracked by V3

That's what I see when I look at it. Wondering if they did some prototype testing years ago, but were afraid the aesthetics of such a design would turn people off and so have taken a much more subtle approach, or if it's just an evolution of independent discovery and learning from what other companies are doing. 1 Quote Driver: Mizuno ST190 9.5* Aldila RIP Alpha 60 S Fairway Wood: Mizuno ST190 15* Fujikura Atmos Blue 6S Hyrbrid: Mizuno CLK 17* Fujikura Speeder EVO HB Irons: Bridgestone J40 CB (3-PW) Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 Wedges: Bridgestone Tour B XW-1 54* & 58* Nippon Modus 3 105 Putter: Cleveland Huntington Beach SOFT Premier 4 34" Ball: Snell MTB-X Bag: 2017 Titleist Players 5 Stand Bag

Could be, the aerodynamic principals are the same, but yes maybe they all have found (or copied, designs are rarely truly new) a way to take advantage of those principals more in a design that players are comfortable with. 1 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Smoke Black 70g 6.5 (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 15° Smoke iM10 60g 6.0 816 H1 18° Speeder HB 8.8 Stiff | 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 Stiff JPX 919 HM Pro 5 - PW Pro Tour Spec 115i Stiff | Equalizer 52° / 56° Tour V 110 Stiff SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 | Hoofer Bag | - Pro V1x | Right Handed Tracked by V3

I want to see what's behind the cavity above PING, if it's a solid piece where the 425 is that goes across the back, then I'm much more interested. But if it's a cavity--which I'm afraid it is, then I may not be as excited. As you said, that's very much the G410 style, and I think that is one of the issues that created the sound in the G410 that I wasn't crazy about. Also, do they fill it with magic goo? Honestly, doing so seems counter to the whole insert face/hollow cavity which purportedly provides a trampoline effect. It would seem almost any filler material would counteract the effect and is more for sound than anything else... but I could be wrong. 1 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review)
