Popular Post PMookie
I set-out this summer to get my GHIN below 5. As of the most recent update, I am below 5! Stoked.... I really think I can get it below 4, so I’m setting that as the next goal. I lose most of my strokes in the last 4 holes of each round when my back stiffens-up and I’m unable to turn as well as I did on the first hole, so there’s room to move it lower. A few more fairways each round can help.... cnosil
This is the lowest. I’d love to get to 3.9, but I gotta start finishing rounds better. More fairways, and greens. Why more fairways? How often are you in a position off the tee where you have to make a recovery shot? How many penalties off the tee? How many 3 putts? The fairways are barely 40 yards wide, so not much room with the overhanging branches. Accuracy off the tee is a premium down here... Few white stakes, just narrow. For an Amateur, trying to hit a 20 yard wide swath is difficult, heck, even Pros struggle when the US Open is cut at 20. I very rarely three-putt, so I’m not losing strokes due to that. Accuracy off the tee for me and where I play is the most important. For 4 full years our Pro even had the fairway cut at 21 yards wide. 3 inch Bermuda rough. He got mad when I told him that the tournaments he played-in were easy because those fairways were three times as wide as what we Ams played at our course. tommc23, MattF and cnosil 1 2 Quote Driver: Ping G430 Max 9*, Ping Tour 70X Fairway: Ping G425 15*, Ping Tour 70X Hybrid: Ping G425 22*, Ping Tour 80X Irons: Ping i230 4-GW, TT DG X100 Wedges: SMS 50D/54V/58DModus 130 stiff, +1” Putter: EAS 1.0 Ball: Titleist 2023 AVX
