Buffly Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 Would you please recommend a driver for me in the $100 range? My current driver is a Callaway XR16 9* (set to 8*) with a Project X LZ Stiff shaft and Midsize GP Tour Velvet grip. What I like: hot face, adjustable hosel. Why I want to change: seems too light and can't feel the head through the swing as much as I would hope causing few center strikes, too much spin, launches too high Swing speed in the 100-105 range. Spin in the high 2ks 2700-2900 with some higher and lower. Launch at about 14 +/-. I want a club that helps me find the center of the face more, launches lower, with less spin. Do you have any recommendations? Golf is simple - people are complicated. 5w Taylormade SLDR S 19* - 220yd, Ping G2 5-U - 190-105, Maltby M+ 54* & MG 60* - 95-75, Evnroll ER8, Titleist 816 H1 4h 21*, Maltby 4 Hybrid Iron 24* - 210-200, Callaway XR16 8* - 235 carry
null Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 That is quite a low price point There are a couple of models from the past few years that you should be able to find close to that, but in reality you might need to spend closer to $200 Ping G400 LST Cobra F8+ Srixon 785 I would put the G400 LST at the top of the list.

I do like Ping. It seems easier for me to feel the head. From my limited knowledge I think the head is a little heavier in the Pings than Callaways. Yes, Ping tends to go with heavier heads and then a range of high balance point shafts in their stock offerings. Callaway tends to have the lightest driver heads on the market
