Titliest TSi line hits the PGA at Safeway Open

The much anticipated new woods release for Titleist has finally been announced.  With a new name none the less.

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (Sept. 6 , 2020) – This week at both the PGA Tour’s Safeway Open and European Tour’s Portugal Masters, tour players will get their first opportunity to put the new Titleist TSi drivers in competition.

The tour debut of the new TSi drivers – in advance of next week’s U.S. Open Championship at Winged Foot – marks the start of Titleist’s tour seeding and validation process. Gathering feedback from the game’s best players throughout the R&D process and then earning their final validation are critical elements in the development of all high-performance Titleist golf equipment.

Over the next few days, Titleist Tour Representatives on site at both the Silverado Resort in Napa, Calif., and the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course in Algarve, Portugal, will be working with players on the range, fitting them into the new TSi driver models.

Titleist has been the most played driver on the PGA Tour for two seasons running.

Stay tuned to Titleist.com and Titleist’s social channels for updates as this process continues over the coming weeks at events on the worldwide professional tours.

Just saw Modern Golf tweet about these and looked for the thread. They look good and if they're anything like the predecessor, they'll be a damn good club.

I think these drivers look really sharp and clean. Interesting to see if they have borrowed a bit from Ping on the adjustable weight on the TSi3, with fixed positions for the weight. It looks likes it might be 5 fixed positions instead of a true track. Tough to tell from the image, but look forward to finding out.

Check out the IG page for MGS, there are some in hand pics there.  There definitely are 5 weight ports.  A neutral and a h1, h2, t1 and t2

I thought they could have come up with something a bit more marketable, even d1,d2 and f1 and f2 would have made since  or min draw and fade and max draw and fade

But looking forward to seeing snd hearing more

The sliding weight reminded me a lot more of the Big Berthas than PING, but either way I'm sure these will be a good hit. Titleist drivers (and clubs in general) seem to carry a stigma of only being for better players, however I had a 910 driver and it was point and shoot. And if *I* can hit a Titleist driver good, then anyone can!

It's possible that they change in "lettering" could be a marketing strategy toward the stronger player. I'd imagine the stronger player would prefer "toe and heel" instead of "fade and draw," as "fade and draw" implies that they can't control their shot shape! That's just my guess, but I do think they have the perfect combination of classic, minimal looks and tech. Sign me up!

Yeah, I'm nitpicking there, it just struck me as odd.  Your reasoning is an interesting thought, I just know other companies have gone with the  terms draw and fade in the past, including Titleist with the weight cog in the 917 D3 and TS3.   In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't affect playability, just something that stood out to me.   Funny, I'm more bothered by that than the tsi alignment aid that has everyone up in arms 🤪

I have never been star stuck by a titleist driver before. But I am now..

there is something about these that has a hunk of Nike to it. I really really like them. I love the pure pear shape of the TSi3 as well..

Any word as to when these will be available to the public?

Most likely around the middle of October.  Titleist usually has a 4 to 6 week seeding period before retail launch, I expect this one to be shorter.

I agree the TSi alignment is fine but that face would take some getting used to, though my current driver has an infitiny symbol on it so if it works it works and just get used to it.

It does look different.  It would have helped if Poulter knew how to take a proper picture versus an upside down one 🙂

Mizuno did this before any of the other major OEMs with their 2007 MP-600.
