DevilDog29
I will apologize in advance for asking this as I am sure it has been asked previously. My current set was bought off the rack, I went in hit a few balls and bought them. I was just trying to get back in the game and wanted something cheap with decent performance. Now that I'm a complete golf addict again and willing to invest in a set that fit me and my swing. I feel like there will not be any definite answers on this however, I want to know the following: How much did it cost you to get fitted? Where did you go to get fitted? Are you happy with the results? I appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing your answers Quote Driver- TSi 3 9*( Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White 65) 3W- Cobra Speedzone (Oban Isawa Red 04 Stiff 75) 14* 3H- Speedzone (UST Recoil 480 ESX (F4) 5-A- Mizuno JPX Hot Metal Pro (Nippon Modus Tour 120 Stiff) 22*-50* 56*- MG3 60*- SM8 Putter- Spider GT 35" Ball- ProV1X or Tour B XS Range Finder- Bushnell Tour V4 Jolt Shift With Slope Patriot Pack Bags- Camo Players 4 Plus Stand Bag or C130 in red, white, and blue Spikes-,,
mchiller
1. Free 2. Club Champion - they normally charge but we're running a promotion 3. Yes, very happy with the results. Their 90 day fit guarantee is great. My new irons weren't giving me the same result on the course as they were in hitting bay. Went back and he helped make adjustments and it's going better. Chip Strokes
i think the most important question to ask is “why?” a good club fitter will want to educate you on why he’s choosing certain components for you to build the perfect clubs. i’d have a very hard time spending a considerable amount of money if the fitter couldn’t explain past “well look, the ball went straight” tony@CIC and ncwoz 2 Quote SIM2 8º | KuroKage XD 70TX SIM 3W 14º | Fujikura Atmos Black Tour Spec 9TX SIM2 5W 18º | Fujikura Ventus Black 10X U500 2i | Fujikura Ventus HB Black 10TX T100 4-PW | Dynamic Gold X7 SM6 52* SM8 56* SM8 60* | Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 DW | BGT Stability Tour

Bosox04
I just talked with a guy at my club that did a fitting a CC. They were running a promo that gave a free whole bag fitting if the player bought something. He bought Irons and wedges. They fit him into a steel shaft that added $67 per club. No credit for the shafts that came in the clubs, and he was not given the shafts that came in the clubs. He felt fairly satisfied, but he felt he should, at least, been given the original shafts that he paid for. tony@CIC

They are in business to make money, and I just feel like they are going to push the most expensive options, I might be dead wrong, but that's my opinion. I have read lots of conflicting things about puring and it applies to both graphite and steel. Same shaft probably is a $30 upgrade at the OEM; CC will add on a premium for things like puring, ensuring shaft weight and SW are correct, flex is the same for each shaft, etc. You have a right to be skeptical; some people think it is worth it while others don't. Regarding high dollar shafts, that is all based on how much you communicate to them about your budget. tony@CIC, Bosox04 and DevilDog29 3 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: TS3 15* w/Project X Hzardous Smoke Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/:Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: TM-180 Testing: Backups: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017

dlow206
I have had a few different fittings, and here are my thoughts on how that went. 1. Iron fitting when just coming back to golf at a retail store - didn't know much about fittings or equipment, this one was a bad fitting. got fit into X-flex irons just based on 7 iron swing speed. and then i was asked to pick what weight shaft based on what i thought felt best, not based on any numbers on the launch monitor. 2. Driver fitting for PXG driver at PXG location - my swing was crap at that time, so it was probably not the right time to get fit. we looked at launch monitor data and i got fitted into a 12 degree driver and then the shaft that produced the best shots. nothing wrong with this fitting, but my driver swing was bad, so probably not the right time to get fit 3. Iron fitting at Golftec - this was a pretty good fitting and we used data to evaluate different irons and shafts. overall, good experience. the only thing i didn't like was the shaft selection was limited because Golftec doesn't have universal adapters on their shafts/clubheads 4. Driver fitting at retail store (different store than #1) - This one i basically self fit and was choosing between the Mavrik series and the SIM series. So i guess this wasn't a real fitting just the salesperson saying which was producing better distances and dispersions. Didn't fit for shafts except for between the two stock shafts they had for the SIM Max tony@CIC 1 Quote Follow my golf journey to break into the 80s Tester for the Titleist TSi Driver Spring 2020 MGS Tester for the Fujikura Motore X Shaft Updated 07/15/2022 Driver: Rogue St Max LS - Autoflex Fairway Woods: Rogue Max St 3HL and 7 Wood Irons: JPX 921 Hot Metal 5 to AW - Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff parallel tip Wedges: Glide 4.0 54 and 58 Putter: PLD Custom Kushin

They definitely do the best on driver as that is probably what they do the most of. I can't recommend them for irons. And the biggest reason for that is how they do it. I forget if it was only 7i or only 6i they have, but either way, it's all they have. If you want to get for to the best 7/6i you can, they are great. If you think you might want a mixed set, or wondering if you should use the set gap wedge or a specialty wedge instead... You are better off going to a PGASS or any local shop that will let you hit more than a single iron. Here on MGS we(I) pine over how clubs perform in the most wanted testing. Long, mid and short irons each get their own rankings. CC just gives you 1 data point. They will optimize that point to all get out, but it is still just 1 point. I just don't think using a 6i or 7i is representative of how the rest of the set will perform. I think TS uses 6i (based on @GolfSpy Stroker and what I've read). While still not great, I feel it's better than 7i... simply from the standpoint that most players struggle less with 7i+. With all the OEM fitting kiosks being modular, it seems odd they don't offer at least a couple of clubs (5i/7i, or 6i/8i). It sure seems that would increase the odds of best fit thru the set. Of course, with newer lofts, many bags no longer have lower than a 5i, so that changes things a bit. The "split sets" are making more sense to me and I'd be open to that. Micah T
I’ve used CC for driver, putter, and wedge fittings: I’m extremely satisfied with all 3. My irons were fit at PGATSS and just like@Thin2win mentioned, I could hit all the clubs in the set, and did. I still think the relationship you have with the fitter makes all the difference, just like with an instructor. My PGATSS fitting was good because I was taking lessons there and my instructor told the fitter what direction to go in. My CC fittings were good since my fitter and I play similarly and he knew what results/shot shape I was looking for. DevilDog29
Fitting Recap: Overall I am happy with how everything turned out. I went in for a full bag fitting however, I only replaced my 3 wood and irons. We started off by hitting my 6 iron, Callaway Rogue X. I was hitting the ball 195 yards with 30 yards of dispersion. After hitting the ball 4 or 5 times to get my baseline, we started to try different shafts. I tested roughly 5 different shafts I ended up being fit for the Nippon Modus Tour 120 S Flex. Then we moved into club heads. I hit 5 different heads from an assortment of brands. I ended up getting the Mizuno JPX Hot Metal Pro. With the 5 shots hit I had 205 yards with 6 yards of dispersion (WOW!!). After this took place we moved into the driver. I hit my driver 5 times and the fitter explained that I'm not going to see much more improvement by changing a shaft or head. We still hit a few different brands but decided that the gains weren't worth the cost. 2 yards of distance with roughly the same dispersion wasn't enough to for me to pony up the bucks. 3 Wood fitting was really quick. Hit my 3w 5 times and determined I needed something more forgiving. I ended up with the Cobra Speed Zone in the Oban Isawa Red 75 Stiff. I was able to see a tighter dispersion of 30 yards and a distance of 245 yards. I'm happy with the results. Hybrid I didn't want to move away from. I'm currently playing the Callaway Rogue and it's my favorite club in my bag. I still hit it so the fitter was reassured, 235 yards, 20 yards of dispersion. Putter fitting was very simple but informative. I hit 7 putts with the SAM, I ended up getting a loft and lie adjustment but keeping my putter. I was blown away by the results in this. I was adjusted to 1* of loft and 69* of lie. I was striking the ball in almost the same exact spot on the putter and my face angle at impact was 0.1*. After the adjustment I did notice the ball was rolling a lot faster! I would highly recommend Club Champion to any of my friends and also you. Once my new clubs come in I will be doing a full in detail WITB with photos. Let me know if there is anything you would like to know further. Keep hammering! I mean I wouldn't expect to have the fitter switching between a bunch during the downselect, but once you get the choice down to a few make/models, I would definitely want to hit a 4i and 9i. That makes so much sense and would increase my confidence in making a purchase!
