It's fine at some marquee events but I'd rather see reasonable rough lengths at the majority of events.On Bryson, this is the first time in his career he's opened a major with two straight rounds under par. He's now got 5 rounds in the 60s of the 6 major championship rounds he's played in 2020. That's more rounds in the 60s this year alone than he had in all of 2015 through 2019. His scoring average in majors has also dropped from 72.5 to 67.8. Whatever your thoughts on the guy, the work he's done has clearly worked for him.Meanwhile, Phil.... Phil, Phil, Phil. Will leave Winged Foot having missed the cut and shot the worst 36 hole score of his career at the US Open... +13.As things stand, we've got 6 guys under par. Seeing how tough its playing, it's looking likely that the lead will be coming back towards even. Pretty reasonable chance Bryson could have a share of the lead by end of day. It (TGC) changed to the Pure Insurance and then within 10 minutes it's back to the USO, showing "live" but replay. A big criticism, especially after Shinnecock was the USGA basically ignoring every one when it came to setting up the courses for the US Open. Even after years of screwing it up. So if they let the Winged Foot staff handle the course setup this week, I think that's huge.
