Buffly 563
Callaway Supersoft Magna golf ball is about 1/16 of an inch bigger and conforms to the rules of golf. Ball can't be smaller or heavier than certain metrics so a larger diameter that meets weight limits is perfectly legal. Has anyone tried them? Does anyone game them? Your thoughts? If we can avoid the automatic dismissal due to it being a 2 piece economy golf ball as already mentioned then we can focus on who this ball is for. I have found one on the course and it is a small difference in size. I play urethane balls for the greenside spin so this post is mostly out of curiosity. Cory O 423
Interesting concept and if I happen to find one out on the course, I'll certainly give it a try to see what it's like. That said, I very much doubt the performance claims because if there was any sort of competitive advantage to a larger-sized, still conforming ball, then every manufacturer would be making and heavily marketing them. The only advantage would be the slightly higher center of gravity due to the larger diameter. This would theoretically make it easier to hit higher on the face. The small psychological difference of seeing a larger ball at address could instill confidence for a beginner. TR1PTIK 3,601
This ball is largely (pun intended) designed for beginners. Price point, construction, and physical dimensions all cater to the golfer who needs a little confidence boost and perhaps some help identifying the ball in the rough (larger size and bright color can help with that). Hook DeLoft 749
Larger diameter = less spin. At least that was the selling point of the old Top Flite Magna. NC Golfer 150
I'd recommend these for a beginner. For an experienced person the flight is very strange, like hitting a knuckle ball. I will say they were a lot of fun chipping. Also, they have a nice yellow color.
