My parents got me a used Ping putter, my first real club. It was stolen along with 2 other bags out of my garage. I don’t even really remember what is was. It would have been later 80’s, copper color, beryllium maybe?  With the plumber neck and smooth black ping grip. Nostalgia…

Titleist 909F3 3 wood - worst of all I thought my cousin had it, contacted him and set up a round of golf and he said he had it. Brought it to me and gave to me after the round. Right headcover, right shaft (Aldila NV 75S), but was a 904f I discovered when I got home and popped the headcover off. So dissapointing as that thing was going right in the bag! (The 904f is pretty solid though)

What's in the bag:

Driver:  Taylormade M2 10.5 deg (@8.5) - Accra Tour Z M4 (future Otto Phlex Grafalloy Pro Launch Blue 44g A flex as a 2nd option)

3 wood - Mizuno 15 deg (@14) ST200 - Tensei Blue X flex

Driving iron - Taylormade GAP2 2 lo (@16) - Accra M4 hybrid shaft (39 inch), 4 Utility - Taylormade GAPR 4 lo (@20.5)

5 iron -  Mp18 MMC Fli Hi - Modus 105x - 7 iron length

Irons - (PW - 6) JPX 900 tour - Modus 105x (6 iron is 7 iron length)

Wedges (50,55) - Vokey SM7

Wedge (60) Callaway PM Grind

Putter: Odyssey Arm Lock Double Wide with Superstroke Wrist Lock grip at 37 inch

I had a Cleveland Comp driver, 10.5* that I reshafted myself with an older stiff Cleveland shaft, Fujikura manufacture, 44 1/2" and I could make that sucker do anything I wanted. Straight, draw, fade, it didn't matter as I had full control over where it was going to go. I got caught up in the "new and improved" crap of today's drivers and bought a new driver. I'm so pissed at myself for believing the hype. I'll regret that decision til the day I die.

I had a Cleveland Classic compression molded carbon driver, MW-14.  Mid 1990s, pre- Big Bertha.  It was the shape of a persimmon with a sole plate, just a wee bit bigger, all black, no fancy marks or aerodynamics.  It was fun.  I called it my potato masher.  There is one on ebay now for $45.

The other driver was Callaway Diablo Edge 10.5 deg on a Aldila Habanero 60-R.  I dumped it too early about 2017 because it was a few degrees closed face and I wanted to learn to hit properly without a closed face.  The shaft was perfect flex for me at the time.

Time and technology move on.  I hope to fall in love with a "new" Callaway Steelhead Xr 3 wood.  Then I will regret giving away a Adams low profile Speedline F11 3 wood on a Matrix Ozik shaft.  Maybe I'll keep it anyway for the flat bottom low profile, designed for fairway, not off the tee.

Driver: PXG 0211, A flex Evnflo Riptide (2021). And an old Callaway 454 TI (2004) on regular flex.

3 W: Callaway Steelhead Xr A flex Tensei CK 55 gram. The rest are Regular flex.

5 W : Titleist TSi 1 on Aldila Ascent regular flex.

Driving Iron: Mizuno MP 18 MMC 3 18 degree, on Mamiya Recoil reg flex.

4 iron:  Mizuno Fly-Hi, 24 degree hybrid iron, GFF, even tho it is a hollow body iron.

6,7,8,9,wedge: Ping I 500, on Recoil reg flex shafts.

Gap wedges: 52 x 9 Mizuno forged S5, wedge shaft; 60 x 6 Mizuno forged T7, wedge shaft.

Sand: Old original Hogan Sure Out on Apex original shaft, probably 56 / 12.

Chipper:  (yep I carry a chipper) old Don Martin "Up n In" bronze? copper? 🙂

Putter: Just switched Jan 2024 to a Odyssey Stroke lab "R" Ball with the 2 piece, multi material shaft.🙃

20181106_115409.jpg.06f61873a429cc9a01be332e371ba19a.jpgI bought a custom putter, provided all of the relevant information. Its absolutely gorgeous. But I hate it, the weight is bad for me, the swing is unnatural its just uncomfortable to use. It was insanely expensive to boot. I've since moved onto the Cobra Vintage Stingray putter which I absolutely adore.

Hind site is always 20x20 but in this case I was not only BLIND but Stupid as well...I had a SCOTT CAMERON handmade 8802 type putter and gave it up...it had a long weld from heel to toe on the back above the flange..to give it more weight I guess....it was in pristine condition...I can't even remember why I didn't hold on to it...old age will do that to you..oh well...someone out there has it now...close to that I gave up a Designed by Palmer that I took to the Senior Event at Kings Island and had Arnold sign the face for me on the 18 green...the last of the true gentlemen...sent that off into the world as well...not some of my finest moments !!!!!
