  1. Lincoln ; Nashville, TN
  2. Carpet and Country Club practice green
  3. Have a cheap (gift via amazon) ball return mat and a putt-out. The mat is coarse and somewhat slow. Took over a month to get creases out of it.
  4. I’d like to test the fast or medium. I play at a private corse with Bermuda greens and they can roll fast after verticut, punch and top dressed but typically run around 11.

  1. Ben from Windermere, FL
  2. My putting has never been sharp but central Florida is good for putting outside.
  3. Every mat I've had just has huge ridges in it which I can never get out so I don't end up using them
  4. Lastly, the medium speed (10-11) works perfect.

2. Most of my practice is putting and I prefer to do it on a real green. Winters here can be wet so that practice is hit and miss which usually leads to inconsistent spring golf.

3. I have owned 2 different indoor putting greens. Neither of them have provided much solid practice (wrinkled when put away, material breaks down, ball does not stay in the cup when made).

4. It picked I would love to play the 10-11 stimp green. Fits most of the courses I normally play in the area.

  1. How do you keep your putting sharp through the winter?

Indoor putting mats with distance control drills and putting mechanics drills.

  1. Current/Past Experience with putting mats

There really aren't many good ones out there. They are either too fast and unrealistic or they are too flimsy and don't last.

  1. Go to www.birdieball.com and tell us which speed green you'd want to test

I would want to test the ShufflePutt mat. It gives you plenty of space to work on different types of putts and give great reference for working on distance control.

Wellputt 13 foot fast

in addition to Wellput, have the Puttout mat and pressure trainer. I had a first generation birdieball (reversible). I got rid of it because stepping on it would cause the ball to move.  Would like to see how they have improved.

Fast speed.

I built a platform and currently use the Perfect Practice putting mat. The platform is so I can level it on my basement floor.

I've owned many mats thru the years, even used the hallway carpet for a while. Anything to practice my putting thru the winter.

The speed I would like is the Slow, 9-10 Stimpmeter, Public course.

I have spent the past few years utilizing various putting mats. I had the poorly crafted Ultimate Putting System for a few years. Last year transitioned to a Perfect Practice putting mat.

The Ultimate Putting System (Basically a felt strip) was my initial mat setup, it helped in terms of tempo of my putting stroke, nothing more. I've used the PuttOUT on a thin carpet, which made for a difficult simulated green. Purchased the Perfect Practice standard mat last year, and while it is a step up from the previous two, there are still some discrepancies. The mat is thick, when placed on hard floor its an extremely fast pace, anywhere else is a toss up. Not to mention most indoor putting mats require the "ramp up" into the hole. That is what is most intriguing about the Birdie Ball mat.

I'd love for an indoor mat to be around medium speed (10-11) and be consistently in that area regardless of surface. Not all indoor surfaces are the same.

Practice Green at local course along with putting mat in the garage

I currently have the whole PuttOUT training system ( mirror, mat, gates, trainer). I’ve had it for about 2 years now and it works, but does have some flaws.

I would like to test the Slow 9-10 Stimp Mat since I play mostly Muni’s

Frank from 50 mile  north of NYC. I play a different course three times a week with three different groups. About 15 different courses. For those in the area Apple greens, West Point, Wallkill etc. In NJ Black Bear, Wild Turkey Great Gorge, Farmstead, the Knoll etc. I work on my game, I’m an 11.4 handicap And would love to try out a putting mat.

Thanks

Alex from California, US

I currently have an old putting mat with automatic ball return that I use to keep sharp year round! The mat is pretty low quality and slow though so I'd love to test something higher quality. I also use rugs, etc. occasionally when I don't want to drag out the bulky and hard to store putting mat.

I would love to test the medium speed mat because I like practicing faster putts. I mostly play local public courses, but some of the nicer ones have pretty quick greens!

Austin Killen Alabama.
I practice on my bedroom carpet at home. I have 2 kids and practice is rare.. if I have time for golf I’d rather play a round . Before rounds I do practice at the putting green tho. My putting is pretty good however and I have used those cheap putting mats from Walmart or similar. Would love to test the medium (or any) of them out!

I keep my putting sharp by practicing on a golf course practice green and, on occasion, using home carpet but more for distance control than precision.

I have practiced on a number of putting mats, mostly at golf stores, to include Putting Trac, Par 1, Perfect Play, Putt-A-Bout, and SKLZ.  I have yet to find one that did much more than distance control.

Medium speed, 10-11 Stimpmeter

1. Tyler from St Charles, Missouri

2. Year round golfer here. I play in every amateur tournament I can play in. I practice at my nearby courses and in my basement on an old putting Mat. I’d love to give this a try to keep some consistency in my game during the winter.

3. I have tried the perfect practice putting Mat in college. Since then I have also used a simple indoor golf putting mat that would crease far too easily

4. The medium green would work perfect. It varies based on the course as I play on mostly private courses.
