I make my way to the course on nice days during the winter to practice.

Never had a practice mat that was close enough to the real thing to use.

Medium is what I typically play on.

Practice on a cheap smooth artificial putting strip that does not roll like a real green.

I have had the above described mat for years. My putting is awesome on the mat because it has lines, no slope, and is completely smooth. Doesn't simulate a real putting green at all.

In the winter I have used putting mats on and off for the last twenty years. Four years ago I did some research to find the best putting mat that was still affordable. At the time the Big Moss seemed to be the best option. It worked better than the cheaper mats but it still did not give a true role.

The medium speed mat would be my preferred option.

Had I not just been chosen for the Ping Heppler Putter, I would be all over this. I was looking into BirdieBall products, specifically the mat and the ball. The mat looks and sounds pretty cool, so I look forward to reading the reviews.

Good luck to all who enter!

  2. How do you keep your putting sharp through the winter? I practice putting drills on a mat in my garage several times a week. I venture out to the practice green at my club once a week.
  3. Current/Past Experience with putting mats: They are too forgiving compared to actual greens and holes. On my current mat, the ball seems to fall if it comes anywhere near the hole or rolls over the hole's edge. This is likely due to a lack of firmness in the spongy makeup of the practice mat.
  4. Go to www.birdieball.com and tell us which speed green you'd want to test: Medium Green Speed.

Kumar - London

I keep my putting sharp by putting into a cup.

I haven't currently got a putting mat. Throughout my junior golf days I used to have the old basic putting mat and my putting used to be much.

I would like totest and review a fast/medium putting mat as I'm usually playing in competitions where the greens are rapid and pure.
