Practice all winter on outdoor carpeting in my garage. Mostly work on putts dying at the hole.

Medium speed would work best.

Thanks for the contest!

Titleist TS2 , Titleist 917 3 wood , Titleist 818 H2 hybrid 19, Wilson V6 3-GW , Ping Glide 58ES , Bettinardi Queen B

TESTERS ANNOUNCED! Not to make this all personal, but since I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I've got first hand knowledge of just how valuable an indoor putting green can be. Liv

Matt, VA

I have an Accelerator mat that keeps me sharp in the winter

I have only used an Accelerator mat which doesn't give me many options to putt as I would like

I would like to try the medium speed with any hole configuration

**First post alert**

First thank you my golf spy for all the hours you put in researching/testing equipment. It is a huge benefit for people like myself that do not have quality golf shops around without having to drive 2 hours.

Caleb/ Hattiesburg, MS

- putting practice during winter months usually consist of the office carpet and blast motion aid to work on tempo/path.

- I do not own a mat currently/ I gave up on putting mats because of poor quality and the fact that you can never keep them flat after being put away.

- medium 10-11 stimpmeter

  1. Go to www.birdieball.com and tell us which speed green you'd want to test

John

Newport News, VA

The Virginia winters are mild so the course practice green is usually in good shape.

My experience with indoor mats are poor. They are wrinkly and fray on the edges.

After visiting the site I would be excited to try the fast speed, as it probably matches how the courses here in the Hot Virginia summers are.

John Russell

Irons: stiff shaft, standard loft/lie Nike VRS Covert 2 4-pw

Driver: 10 deg, stiff shaft Ping G400

3/5 woods: Adam's Tight Lies 2 with stiff shafts.

Putter: Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2 33inch

Wedges: Cleveland CBX 56deg, and Cleveland 588RTX 60deg.

Ball: I'm loving the Titleist DT TruSoft. It seems to be stopping on the greens well, and feels soft and pure on even a decent strike.

George / Lake Barrington, IL US

I have a Tour Links 9' Training Aid in the basement on carpet for winter practice.

I've had a couple putting mats. I like the cup being below the surface instead of putting up an incline. A base seems to be important for the roll to be consistent.  Curious to see if the birdieball foam provides a true roll or if it deforms when standing on it.

Medium - 10 - 11 Stimpmeter - Private Course

  1. First Name and Location- Joe, New York City
  2. How do you keep your putting sharp through the winter?- I generally don't. I occasionally make it to my local course to their putting green, but almost impossible to do during the winter.
  3. Current/Past Experience with putting mats- I've never had one, honestly. I find myself wishing I had one all of the time, but I'm always concerned that mats wont be as consistent as real grass greens to the point that I only hurt my game. I'm a big time believer in the "if you're practicing the wrong way all you do is master how to do it wrong." rule.
  4. Go to www.birdieball.com and tell us which speed green you'd want to test- I honestly have the worst issues with faster greens. Most of the courses I play have med/slow greens and I don't get to practice very often at all for faster rolling greens. I would like to get better with that aspect of my game.

Driver- Mavrik 9* Fuji Motore X F1 6X

3W- Mavrik Aldila Rogue White 6S

Wedges- Zipcore Blackout 50/54/58

Putters- Evnroll ER5 Hatchback Murdered

Ball- Bridgestone Tour B XS

  1. Tad Lehmann - Pittsburgh, PA
  2. Don't practice my putting anywhere as much as I need to - putting on any of my carpets is like what the pros described at Chambers Bay in 2015
  3. I've never had a putting mat before
  4. The medium speed (10/11 on the stimp) would be phenomenal

Many thanks to MGS and Birdieball
