Man, sounds like you are a week, or in my case 12 hrs too late. GLWS.

... Well it was you having a hard time finding one that made me re-think owning mine. No use letting it sit in my bag completely unused because it is such a great club!

Kind of how I feel with my pxg DI. Although your success with the dhy makes me wonder if I should sell my DI and sub70 3H and get a DHY with a ventus shaft for having something more versatile 🤔

... OK fellow MGS'ers I am gonna sell my 17* Super Hybrid. It was an absolute go to club for me back in the soft Midwest conditions but on these fast and hard Phoenix fairways I can reach every par 5 on my home course with a 4 iron or my DHY. Only used my SH once and it rolled off the back of the green. 😳  I still find it insane I can reach a green from 240 using my DHY. The SH 17* is too valuable a club to let it sit in my bag unused so gonna sell it to someone that can put it to good use!

It should be a right of passage that each owner of a 17 deg puts up some launch monitor numbers in this thread. So we can see who is truly worthy of Thor’s hybrid hammer. 🤪

First round with the super and I am very impressed.

This thing just shoots bullets. I still need some work on the deck with it but from the tee it’s a life saver.

Take out my one toe hit with it (that still carried 167) I was averaging about 208 with some miss hits. Can control height easy depending on tee height.

last drive of day  203 a little small fade  maybe slightly high on face

Hit one a little thin, got 5 feet off the ground but still managed to go 205. Hit DI to compare and DI was 20 yards short at the same loft.

I think this club has kicked my DI out of my bag due to its versatility. From the deck I still need to get ball placement better. I had one chuck that was terrible. The rest were low bullets that we’re fading. My fault not the club. At the range I actually had to put it back to 17 since I wasn’t getting any height at 16. May play around more as I get comfortable with it. The stiff shaft is right for me. XS would have been too much shaft and I swing an XS driver.

Question is, is there a driver out there that feels like the super hybrid? I would love to know as I feel that would be a great driver for me

First "real" round with the Super Hybrid, meaning an opportunity to play a course that wasn't muddy and soft. Swing wasn't the best today (is it ever?), but I was impressed with the Super Hybrid from the deck.

Over the winter, I reshafted it with a Mitsubishi MMT 80TX hybrid shaft, playing at the stock length of 41.5". The MMT plays a lot more stout and feels less active than the stock stiff Tensei Orange, but it's a good stout and I think the Tensei Orange will eventually make it to the BST forum.

I had two good shots from the deck, 220 yards into the wind on No. 4 and 195 yards with a choked up 3/4 swing from a sidehill lie on No. 18. I also used it from the tee on No. 4, but I made a poor club choice in doing so. From an elevated tee box into up to 18 MPH gusts, the Super Hybrid pretty much got beaten down hard by the wind and only ended up carrying about 210 yards. Should have hit driver.

I'm excited to have found a longer club I can hit from the deck!

It’s amazing how feel is subjective. I feel as if the orange is pretty stout. Maybe I just need to swing more shafts to learn that feel...

... I think a lot of the subjectivity comes form swing speed and how you swing. The later the release the more tip stiffness and over all stoutness will show up in feel. The earlier the release the less effect the shaft has because it is already unloaded well before contact. A smooth swinger can load and unload something like an Even Flow Blue with great results but swinging a Pro Orange in a driver can feel like a telephone pole. Conversely a hard hitter will think the EF Blue is an uncontrollable noodle and the Pro Orange a much more stable shaft that just feels right.

... That said and I have mentioned this before but the Pro Orange Hybrid shaft is nowhere near as stout as the driver shaft that has an extremely stiff tip. As a smooth swinger I have no problem playing the PO hybrid in a S flex but the PO driver shaft is way to stout for me in R flex. And add to all that what you mentioned above, feel is subjective even for any two players with similar swings.

The lore of the Super Hybrid grows.

First time out at my home course with the SH this evening. I played six holes before packing it in for the night. I was able to use the SH for tee shots on Nos. 1 and 3.

I estimate both totaled 240+ yards. Jaw. Dropped.

Ever since switching to the MMT, I've found the SH just wants to go straight. My swing has been awful lately but this club has been the star of the show. I wonder if the 23 degree model would work in my 4 hybrid slot? 🤔

I have a Super Hybrid that i have owned for a few months, but haven't had a chance to use it much. I probably use it once a round (will use more in the future once I get to practice with it). I had been having trouble making contact with the 17. Would top it or hit weak shots. Today, I decided to choke down a bit. I normally play my irons 0.5" shorter than normal, but I ordered the Super Hybrid at standard length from CPO. I choked down and hit one of the tee and hit a rocket. I was like, ahhh, that's what you guys are talking about.

This is both an amazing and crazy thread ... seriously, how am I just now learning of Callaway’s Super Hyrbid??! 🤯 Went to Callaway’s website and once I got to their hybrid page, I had to scroll all the way down to find their Super Hybrid.

The reviews and further testimonies are impressive.

so my first tee ball on Sunday was a 245 yard bomb. Crazy! Sadly i struggled to replicate that feel the rest of the round, but it does have serious potential

Will the technology in the super hybrid be beneficial to a slow swinging senior, or is a certain swing speed required to enjoy the benefits?

You might benefit from a 20* or 23*. The 17* may be to hard to get in the air

I had a bad case of the hooks with the driver and Super Hybrid today, but it served its purpose on the first par 5. Great tee shot, and then I got away with a really heel-y shot from a thin lie and still almost ended up on the green. Unfortunately, it went behind a tree and I had to chip around leading to a par. Still really loving this club.

(Arccos was off a bit on the second shot. I was much closer to the green...)

Man, these numbers you guys are putting up are crazy.  I am in the market for a new hybrid, but the question I have is will I hit it too far?  I have my 5 wood and love it, I don't want to replace it.  I hit it around 240 yards.  I am looking at getting a 20 degree but by the looks of the numbers you all are posting, I'm not sure the 20 degree wouldn't go about 240 yards.  Does anyone have a higher lofted one and if so, how far are you all hitting it?  I know each of us will hit these clubs diferent lengths but like others have mentioned, I don't want to drop $200 plus on a whim.

... I was in Golf Galaxy last night picking up some grips and a guy needed a new shaft for his wedge. He said it is an s-flex but wanted to check to make sure what would be best. Looked weak and out of shape, mid/late 50's and said he swings his driver around 110 but can get to 120 when he really wants to go after it. Repair guy took him to a LM and had him take a few swings with his driver and his best was 89mph. The one he really went after was 86. He got a little mad because the LM was "so far off".  The repair guy said yea they have been having problems with the LM so it was probably off but recommended a r-flex for the wedge.  After the guy left I asked if he was pretty normal and he said "Oh Yea just about everyone swings 100 or higher and hits their driver 275-300 and on the LM most are between 85-95 and average around 200.  🤣

... Yea, golfers are a delusional bunch. Golf forum members tend to be more realistic about their abilities but can still err on the side of "best" not "average". My first experience with Arccos was helpful and while irons were pretty spot on, driver and 3 wood was another story. Take a typical 400yd par 4 on the soft midwest fairways and I am left with 130 so clearly a 270 yd drive. Arccos had me a good 10 yds or more shorter on average so I started paying closer attention. What was pretty typical was tee markers 5 yds or more from the middle of the tee box and the pin middle/front on a slight dogleg left. I hit it to the left side and I am left with 130 but of course I did not take the tee/pin location into strict calculations and being on the left side as opposed to the middle shaved more yards off. Arccos told me a 257 yd drive when I calculated 270.

... While the experience was a little disappointing for my ego 🤪  it did make me understand my carry and overall driving distance better and helped explain why I hit into a bunker guarding a dogleg when I thought I would easily be past it. Actually knowing how far you hit your driver on average is invaluable.

Honestly, I haven't used the Super Hybrid all that much this season. There are only a few holes where it could be useful, and lately I've either opted to hit driver or lay up well short of the trouble with more success.

One of the things I struggle with is letting the ball creep too forward in my stance when using the SH. Because of it's longer length I end up setting up too much like a driver which can cause a whole host of issues. That being said, I've been trying to work the SH into my practice sessions because I do really like it, and I know it will come in handy some time - like today.

Playing in a work scramble we came to No. 18, where they recently started moving the white tees back a big amount. It was 215 yards to reach the bunker in the middle of the fairway. I lined up right on the bunker, took a smooth swing and man, does the SH absolutely crush the ball. I hit it too straight and figured it was headed for the bunker, only to watch it fly it easily and end up in the rough just at the end of the fairway.

Ruler_and_Google_Earth_Pro.jpg.41ed2bfc79d9345e24ea8a12b518bb6b.jpg

Ended up putting my 54 to about 10 feet and one of my team members hit the birdie putt.

I may not use the SH all that often, but I see little reason to contemplate swapping it out of the bag.
