Ping G425 Driver Line up & how much would you be willing to pay to get one now?

Manimal26

Recommended Posts

The G425 lineup goes on sale in AUS of all places on 10/1. Drivers will be $899 AUD recommend retail price which at the current exchange rate is around $630 USD. Looks like the best stock shafts not made by ping will be the AV orange and the rouge white 130 msi and most likely not in TX. I also think that the Orange will be like the ping tensei from the G410 that was made just for them.

How much would you pay to get one now maybe a full year before it goes on sale in North America?

FYI Fairways will be $559 AUD or $393 USD & Hybrid $499 AUD or $350 USD

I will need to know what PING promises in more yardage and FIR, over my G410P, to answer the question.  With new G410's available for $399, I suspect not many will pay $630. Why is it that they will be available in Australia so much sooner?  Unless something has changed, they still assemble all clubs in Phoenix.

The Tensei CK Orange that was available with the G410 was not a made for shaft.  Same shaft is available in aftermarket for ~$250 USD.  It is the "non-pro"  Tensei CK orange.

Not sure if there are shipping restrictions to the US for individuals. That said, it's incredible difficult for me to get a G425 and send it stateside with the current restrictions in my area. That said, not sure if @Peaksy68 would be into making a little extra dough sending it to someone who really wants one. He has a lot more freedom of movement where he is.

It could be done, but the logistics would be difficult to work out. Shipping would be somewhere around AUD80, depending on insurance and speed. Potential warranty issues could be something that would need to be taken into consideration. I know the owner of the local Ping stockist pretty well, he used to be a member of my club, he’d probably be more than happy to make a sale, and potentially take payment directly from any potential purchaser. Ping don’t allow online purchases in Australia, so it would have to be “in store”

@Manimal26 $0 to get it early. The current lineup is plenty good where it wouldn't make sense to pay extra for marginally better at the risk of costly returns internationally.

Golf is simple - people are complicated.

The Tensei orange in the G410 wasn’t a made for shaft for Ping, it was just the non-pro version that was available in a ton of Oem drivers.

The Tensei orange for ping was designed with a softer tip for a little higher launch... it was a better made for shaft than the one version... just check with the ping site

I have no clue why Aus is going first... but Alex Etches on you tube already has them and has reviewed them... I also have family there and based on exchange rate the price would go down... I can also ship military so that’s not a concern...

Easy for me since I have family over there and can ship military... I don’t need the shaft either unless the 130 I can get in tx... I was just debating do I want to spend a little extra to get it now...

The Tensei CK non-pro version was not made for PING. It’s a lesser model of the Tensei CK pro model that is softer in profile, yes. But not made for PIng.

As I and others stated the Tensei CK non-pro range is a stock option in a variety of oem clubs

Could be because Australia's season is just starting and ours is ending.  They probably want to introduce them next winter at the big show in Orlando.

I'm no longer shocked by the price of a driver.  I paid $550 for my G400LST knowing that I'll use it for 4-5 seasons as one of the most important clubs in my bag.  By the time I upgrade my driver, I would expect to pay $600-700 for that replacement.

That makes so much sense! You’re a genius! Look at ping making a smart move! I am watching the exchange rate and when it launches I’m only getting the shaft if it’s the 130msi legit... also looks like there will be an av orange but not the raw we will see on Thursday
