Club hoeing thru collection rotation   

The longer winded explanation....   

I've largely stopped buying clubs.  I've got over 40 drivers, with something around 10 very usable 440cc and up possibilities for the driver slot, a fair number of persimmons, all sorts of fun.  And I've got seven or eight sets of Ram Tour Grinds, Muirfields, MP-37s, MS-11s, TM TP MC, Eye2+, ISI-S....  plenty of iron options to toss in the bag if I get bored with what I'm playing.  

As an idea, it seems to work.  For me, anyway.  LOL

I feel you, I'm only a 5 hour drive to Pinehurst, so I was thinking of a late fall trip down to ease some of the pain, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Oh well, here's hoping 2021 brings better news on the golf travel front!

We were going to drive down too ( 8hour drive) when the flights started to get cancelled this was the end of March 2020 so it was when everything started to close .. hoping for March 2021 reschedule trip ..

We've played what, four rounds together? Have you ever played the same bag twice?

I didn't play my first round till August 28th and I've only played twice thus far but I'm planning on finishing the year strong.

I played with a buddy the other day who has always been near scratch or 1-2 at the highest. 

But i was shocked at how far he was hitting his irons since the last time I saw him.  He was hitting 4 iron 235, 5 iron 220. I asked him if he was on steroids'

He replied, man it was finally getting fit like you suggested, unbelievable.  I went from the TMB (Titleist) to the AP2 and changed shafts from S300 to the X100 and my ball flight is so much better, it just rockets through the air, previously it was just floating out there high.  

His driver has gone from 275-280 carry to 300-310.  Went to a TS3 from the TS2.

Great progress!

I started the year off 20, and have whittled down to 12.8, so that's really exciting. Broke 80 for the first time as well! Practiced my short game more consistently than I have before, and found a number of thoughts and concepts that have been game changers for me. A little sad to see the season wrapping up, but I'm excited to try and keep working on my game! Hopefully I can find some places to keep my swing roughly on par over the winter so it's not back to square 1 come spring.

Like you wouldn't believe! My fairways found are up almost 6% since starting testing of the EXS Pro, and more importantly I've been losing waaaay less tee balls to hazards.

@edingc and I were talking about one of the sneaky positive parts of MGS testing is it forces you to practice that aspect of your game, probably more than you would have! I know that's been helping my tee balls, in addition to throwing in a really really good club to the bag 

MGS continues to be my outlet for connecting with other people who love the game like I do, really appreciate y'all!

Positive progress led to consistency.

I wasn't terribly happy with how I played during the competitive rounds of the Cobra Connect Challenge, but looking back on my scores for the year I was way more consistent than last year. I had 29 18 hole rounds of 85 or less, including five rounds in the 70s (79, 79, 78, 78, 76 - new personal best).

It's nice to step away and think about things on a higher level. There were quite a few moments this season where I've been more than upset about the state of my game, but I'm realizing I made progress this season and also have some goals in mind for next year.

Absolutely! Plus .. what was totally new for me during my first testing opportunity .. was having to think about the WHAT of what I was doing more objectively.

(..and then - find a way to communicate it all in a way that made sense - that in itself was a bit of a learning experience!)

golf courses are over priced.

 I get that they are trying to make up for some lost income early in the year but one course is charging 90(!) dollars this year for the same round that was 50 last year.
