I started the year off 20, and have whittled down to 12.8, so that's really exciting. Broke 80 for the first time as well! Practiced my short game more consistently than I have before, and found a number of thoughts and concepts that have been game changers for me. A little sad to see the season wrapping up, but I'm excited to try and keep working on my game! Hopefully I can find some places to keep my swing roughly on par over the winter so it's not back to square 1 come spring. That is awesome! Congrats! I'm sure being an MGS Tour Edge tester helped as well Like you wouldn't believe! My fairways found are up almost 6% since starting testing of the EXS Pro, and more importantly I've been losing waaaay less tee balls to hazards. @edingc and I were talking about one of the sneaky positive parts of MGS testing is it forces you to practice that aspect of your game, probably more than you would have! I know that's been helping my tee balls, in addition to throwing in a really really good club to the bag MGS continues to be my outlet for connecting with other people who love the game like I do, really appreciate y'all! 5 Quote Right Handed Driver (9°): Speedzone (HZRDUS Smoke Green 70g X-Stiff shaft) FW (15°): X2 Hot (Aldila Tour Green 75 Tx Stiff shaft) Hybrid (18°): Exotics EXS Pro (Evenflow Black 6.5) (2020 MGS Official Review here) Irons (PW-4) TS-1's (KBS $-Taper 120g Stiff shafts) Wedges (50° & 54°): TSW Forged (Dynamic Gold S300) Wedge (60°): Mack Daddy 2 Putter: ER2B (2019 MGS Official Review here) Ball: MTB-Black OR MAXFLI Tour
edingc 7,334
Positive progress led to consistency. I wasn't terribly happy with how I played during the competitive rounds of the Cobra Connect Challenge, but looking back on my scores for the year I was way more consistent than last year. I had 29 18 hole rounds of 85 or less, including five rounds in the 70s (79, 79, 78, 78, 76 - new personal best). It's nice to step away and think about things on a higher level. There were quite a few moments this season where I've been more than upset about the state of my game, but I'm realizing I made progress this season and also have some goals in mind for next year. 3 2 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 9.7 (Last Updated Nov. 27, 2020) Driver: Cobra SpeedZone Xtreme (10.5°, Draw), 44.5", Aldila Rogue Silver 60 (110 MSI) Stiff 17° Hybrid: Callaway Super Hybrid, 41.5", Mitsubishi Tensei CK Pro Orange 80 Hybrid Stiff 21° Hybrid: Callaway Epic Flash, 40", Mitsubishi Kuro Kage Silver 80 Hybrid X-Stiff 4-AW: Sub70 699 (4-6)/699 Pro (7-AW) Combo Set, 1° Flat, 37" 7 Iron, Shafts TBD, Lamkin Sonar Tour 54°, 58°: Cobra KING MIM Black, 3° Flat, -1/2" (54°), -1/4" (58°), KBS C-Taper Lite 115 X-Stiff Putter: L.A.B. Absolutely! Plus .. what was totally new for me during my first testing opportunity .. was having to think about the WHAT of what I was doing more objectively. JerBooth 20
Can't complain.....Glad I'm Back. After a number of years away from the game (golf always took a backseat financially). I'm looking ahead to a lot of golf and enjoyment I had playing the game as a young person. Wrist and hand are now fixed and healing well. Even pulled off an 83 my last round before surgery. Berg Ryman 3,609
Statistically, I learned a lot. Basically, in more depth, this year was pretty much a test run for 2021. I didn't play as much as I wanted with Covid and what not, and the bag was basically a complete overhaul outside of driver and putter. Good news, I learned through my Ping G710 testing and accompanying Arccos that I'm not putting as well as I used to, and that my short game and approach game is helping me make up for that. Winter 2020 is gonna be focused on a fitness program maybe, perhaps with Superspeed and getting a good competent fit for a putter, perhaps also a driver as those were my negative SG categories and maybe landing a good hybrid instead of this 5 wood. I think for most of us, 2020 will be remembered as a lost season, but hopefully you got something out of it to spring board you into 2021 on the right foot. 4 Quote ST180, 10.5, Kuro Kage Silver TINI Dual Core 60-S Epic Flash Sub Zero, 15*, Kuro Kage Silver TINI Dual Core 60-S F9 Speedback, 18.5, Hzrdus Yellow 70-S G710, 4-UW, Blue Dot, Nippon Modus 105-S TW-W4, 56*, Nippon Modus 125 T20, 61*, Nippon Modus 125 Pipe Tour B-XS (2019)
