Titleist TS Weights

Need some advice. I have the TS2 with the smoke black shaft stiff. I hit the ball high and slice and I’ve turned it to D2 which is upright and -.75 loft. I see the have weights you can buy for the back of the club, will changing that help bring the ball flight down or straight ?

The weight is positioned in the rear to help the ball launch higher.  So changing it to a lighter weight  might help some small Mpit. But not by much. Also it won’t help straighten it out by itself.  Now its slightly possible a heavier weight could minimize the amount you are OTT, which along with an open club face can cause a slice.  But a heavier weight could also cause it to launch a bit higher. 

Also just an FYI  By decreasing the loft on the club you have set the face slightly more open, which won’t help the slice. 

Your best bet is to fo see a clubfitter as he will be able to see your swing and the specs of the club snd make a better recommendation than any of us can.

Have you tried to set it to a upright setting like A-3 to help with the slice? As CG2 said, lower lofts = Fades or slice prone.

Good point, the A3 is even more draw bias than the D2 he is currently using.

Isn't A3 a +1.5 loft? So my 9.5 would now be an 11. 

I will give this a try at the range sometime soon

With that adjustment then a lighter weight might help pull the flight down a touch, but a fitting would obviously sort this out. Though an interesting point about reducing the weights is that a lighter clubhead generally has a faster closure rate, helping with the slice a bit. This had popped up in a TXG fitting were they were adjusting swing weights and the lightest driver the put together had the fastest face closure rate as well. Not sure how much the few grams change from the TS weights would help, but if you have them worth a try, or you can just remove the weight and take a few swings and see what happens.

Only one thing left to do then.  Buy a TSi3

Seriously, if you have a chance to get to a fitter or instructor to take a look that would be the best.  Even though there are some pretty knowledable guys on here, hvaing a professional see your swing and flight in person will be the best solution.
