Cobra 54° and Cleveland RTX4 60°

My 60° is a raw wedge. The look and feel is amazing. I love the patina on the wedge and I feel like the ball sticks to the face that extra millisecond for a little more control and bite. Nothing better in my opinion.

Thanks for the chance, guys!

My first wedges were the Cleveland 588 RTG. Raw wedges are just what they're supposed to look like for me.

I've had Cleveland wedges all my life always heard the raw finish gives more spin and that is something I would love to get more of out of my higher lofted wedges.

Appeal- I love the reduced glare from raw wedges and the lack of blemishes when they are beat up. They also remind me of the vokey oil can days which were my favorite wedges.

Current wedges: RTX 3, 54 and 60 (play them from 115 and in, bunker and chip shots around green)

Currently play satin finish but curious about raw as I do not like the wear pattern on face and sole as the satin fades over time. Bounce on the 60 is essentially raw now anyway and has rusted over

Mizuno T20 50 degree Gap wedge/Cleveland RTX4 Tour Raw 54 degree sand wedge/Titleist SM7 Blue Slate 60 degree lob wedge

I discovered my Cleveland RTX4 sand wedge this season when I was replacing my worn out wedge. Honestly I just grabbed the usual suspects off the rack at pga ss, and the Cleveland gave me the numbers, and most importantly, the elusive feel that none of the others had. I’m hoping the new Zipcore maintains that same Cleveland feel, but gives next level “zip” that can last through a season of use.

The biggest appeal to me is the look. That look that makes them seem like they’re 100 years old and have seen 500 rounds of golf.

I really like how the Raw finish gets better with time. More rust allows the shorter shots to generate a bit more spin. I also enjoy the reduced glare with raw wedges.

Testers Wanted (5)

There’s something about RAW wedges that elicits a mixed bag of reactions from golfers. Some swear it gives them more spin—that’s a topic for another day—some say they prefer the look of shiny chrome, tour satin or jet-black finish. Remember the days of one choice?

At one time the options were so few, many took to the home version of RAW by soaking wedges in Coke and other methods to get them to rust. The last few years have seen many OEM’s offer a RAW version of their wedges. With Cleveland Golf having successfully launched the new RTX Zip Core wedges in the summer, it now is offering the wedge in the popular RAW or it is officially called Tour Rack finish.

So, we’re going to let you tell us if raw is better.

Besides the looks of a nice RAW wedge I believe that RAW wedges can offer a softer feel with most shot types.
