What Appeals to You About a Raw Wedge

Like to play with a lot of spin around the greens. Crucial for playing high chips and pitch shots which I do a lot as I prefer that to the bump and run shot. I hit the ball far so controlled shots 100 yards and in is very important to my game. Interested to see if a raw wedge can help improve my game.

Calleway Jaws MD5 Platinum Chrome Wedges 50, 54, 58

As the wedge wears over time a custom antique look emerges reminding me of the work I have put into my short game.  The rustic look provides a striking contrast to a white golf ball for improved focus on the shot

What Appeals to You About a Raw Wedge: No glare at address, and they make me feel like I've got a 'classic gamer'... once they get that patina it feels a little like your wedges are "the way wedges should be".

Ive always heard the Raw creates more spin and would love to see for myself but most important no reflection from the sun and just a better look overall.

Current Models: Cleveland RTX 4 Raw

I have always been drawn to a raw finish on my wedges due to multiple factors. I find it aesthetically pleasing due to the lack of any reflection from the face. Also, it just inspires confidence that the despite my inconsistent swings and angle of attack, I can always trust that the raw finish wedge will always get me the spin I require. I consider wedges like tools, they are meant to get used and sometimes a bit dinged up. I also own Mizuno raw wedges that I have re-grooved to almost as good as new that I game sometimes. Just love using my wedges.

Current wedges: Cleveland CG12 50, Bombtech Grenade 56 and 60

Appeal of raw wedges: I’m intrigued by the raw face as I’ve read about spin/control benefits out of the rough and in damp conditions, which we have a lot of here. I’m on the fence on whether I like the style/finish of rust forming on the club though.
